The AI in general is retarded when with you and suddenly competent when against you, that's not limited to Goku. If we actually knew the triggers for you getting the kill yourself, you finish the fight with SS4 Mira on your own. Goku never really seemed like a dick when he was training me though.

Tracking seems fucked up.

Freeza only killed Krillin out of Goku's friends, Piccolo didn't die from the shot. And Goku thought Piccolo was becoming a good guy, since he said as much to Gohan.

Still, the AIs are different, and Goku's is especially egregious as far as perfect backhits and abusing burst dashes go, that is well-documented. Goku is also one of the least enthusiastic trainers, IIRC he only praises you for getting Zs. That's in a game where Dodoria and Frieza are huge bros and total senpais.

As for Raditz, I would also agree that Goku's reaction to him was/is proportionate, if he didn't show more compassion to fucking Frieza.

Goku seemed pretty enthusiastic. More so than Vegeta who just flings snark and vitriol at you unless you get a Z. Freeza was just a good boss, not necessarily a bro, but I do agree with you about Dodoria. Hell, Cell's a condescending asshole except for Zs and people lap that up like crazy.

That's somehow worse than Vegeta's S rank line? Goku knows that you can do better and wants you to meet your potential. But I have to admit they made the villains mostly pretty nice in XV2.

This is why i love cell, no other mentor acts like an actual mentor other than the villains when they come to save you, because they actually care about you.

I think the problem with Raditz and Nappa is that they're both very much 'yes men'. So they come off as more brash and incapable of change than, say, Vegeta? I guess?

But if they were given another chance and Vegeta had spoken to them (in a Saiyan Prince kinda way) then I could see them turning a new leaf.

It'd be cool seeing them training with the others; never quite becoming as powerful or as strong as Goku/Vegeta, but having their uses.

Makes no sense for Vegeta to just have wasted two folks who were super fucking loyal to him and then... never wish them back? Never try to speak reason into them.

Well yeah that shit is fucked, I can see how Goku would hate him, but Vegeta... killed a bunch of Goku's friends and nearly destroyed the planet and everyone on it. Hell, he was even more forgiving to Freeza, who killed Krillin, genocided a planet, nearly killed Piccolo, killed Vegeta, and whose men nearly killed his son.

Just feels weird that he'd be willing to show mercy to Freeza (even if it was to humiliate him).

I'm not super pissy about any of this, but it just feels like such wasted opportunity. Although if I had to choose, I'd rather Toriyama have kept the main cast relevant than bringing back some Saiyans
