Is meme car really any good?

I don't think a chevette would have a large aftermarket fur performance parts, I don't know since I've never looked into it, just a hunch though.
It's not really a problem if you know how to fabricate at all, making coilovers or subframes from scratch isn't that hard desu.

It's somewhat light and sporty, but at the end of the day it's just a Corolla that did c25k.
In my opinion it's not worth the meme tax, and if you were to buy one expecting it to outstrip every other car on the street then you would be sorely disappointed: remember, Dagumi won in spite of his 86, not because of it, even after it had been modified in every way possible.

They simply don't make cars like that anymore or they just look like Miata/MR-S/Boxter. This car is below 1000 kg, well balanced, FR and it's also a coupe or 3-door hatch (the best most practical body type for a compact car. LSD as an option (unfortunately no trim has LSD as standard). Giant aftermarket.

It is an FR car with very short wheelbase, it is pretty much like Miata. Old Porsches even had solid rear and they handled just fine. Miata is a better grip car though.

For driving (better suspension, the engine might be better I don't really know). AE 86 is a better car because of better body types.

In the end it's a great car if you can buy it domestically for adequate (for your country) money. Importing is much less appealing since you can get an S15 or something for the same money.
