People pick Doom because of TAC infinites, damaging combos, mix ups, his air throws, butter gun, etc.
He's one of the best characters in the game, there isn't a team that he wouldn't do well in.

All three of his assists are pretty good, but Wolverine with a good beam is a force to be reckoned with.
