Arondight is a sword.

Sword > Beam > Wave > Sword

A large beam such as Excalibur that clashes ahead of oneself will cause a divot in the wave, large enough to protect a human-sized figure.
A sword would not create such a large divot.

The whole point of that was that even defending with the sword and splitting the beam didn't mitigate the damage completely, and he needed to stack his own personal defense plus the defense skills of the best Master in the Moon Cell who is specialised in defensive skills to survive.

Being limitless and infinite in durability does not impact its effectiveness in splitting a beam any more than qualifying for being able to do it, period. Anyone doing that is still hit by a portion of the beam. Gawain only survived because of buffs from Numeral and Leo. Lancelot has neither.

Actually Lancelot armor is stronger. It tanked GoB, Gordius Wheel and a hit to the face from IA at full force. Then they have to past Lancelot A END. Or EX with Arondight out.

Also, doubled saving throws amplify Lancelot chances of survival from anything. And then Lancelot can stack Overload if he needs.

Galatine was not what the buffs were for. It was Gawain himself. The sword was already strong enough to split the beam, the problem was the physics of splitting it still leave a chunk that hits the wielder of the sword.

Arondight's durability is a non-factor. Lancelot's is what matters, and since we know for a fact Lancelot is weaker than Numeral Gawain or his equal AT BEST, without the additional superbuffs from Leo he would be obliterated in that scenario.
