Forgot to say that those are non-turbo european trims.
Other note worthy trims are MR2 Turbo (USDM), GT-S and GT (JDM)

Theyre all great. The aw11 is fun as hell and is very genuine, the second generation has the power and JDM style at the cost of handling, the third generation has the stock speed of the second with the handling of the first and is newer but looks the least inspired of the crew.

Just researched some more. Stock, the ZZW30 will definitely out handle the SW20, but it looks like you're right on the speed thing.

OP, when you say the best, what do you mean? Best in what?

The best in reliability and cost to maintain.

okay I own a 2nd gen SW20, dad has an aw11 and cousin has 2 3rd gen mr-s

>purest and most fun
>80's stying
-rust and age is questionable
-finding a clean one is almost 240sx tier difficult

SW20
>90's JDM Ferrari inspired look
>turbo power
>HAS THE MOST CARGO SPACE
>comfiest to own and drive
-the heaviest one (it handles great though so don't be discouraged by this)
-lots have been beat on and most are NA (5sfe engine)

ZZW30
>best handling
>lighter than an NB miata
>best as a track car
>looks great riced up
-awkward stock styling imo
-absolutely no cargo space at all
-the only convertible one (could be a + depending on person)

so with those in mind you'd get an aw11 for fun, an sw20 for well rounded enough for DD and for power, zzw30 as a track whore
