Does Veeky Forums approve of the NSX?

>FWD

/thread
the nsx is apparently fwd therefore not approved

Yes, mainly the new one.

wat

It's RWD

its horribly dated and looks awful

it has a fucking Accord engine

but some BRhue liked it so Veeky Forums does too

desu I think the best part of the car is it looks. There's other jap cars that were on par with nsx on performance in stock form, plus having a bigger aftermarket and are both far more practical to live with. Still one of my favorite cars though, its just plain sexy car.

>There's other jap cars that were on par with nsx on performance in stock form,

like what?

Toyoto Paseo

The Fd was just as fast if not faster stock and way cheaper. Also way better looking.

FD, for one

FD and the skyline, the supra and z32 TT were at least just as fast in a straight line

The FD is, R33 GTR is also pretty close.

Looks like the Turismos I see in Los Venturas.

yes, it is the best 90's japanese car

>"276hp"
>2nd gen NSX-R
kek

Conditional approval: generally considered overpriced for what it is.

It's definitely overpriced, it got taken by the collectors market much like the 993

No.

Over priced for what it is.
The engine is the wrong way.
A Corvette does the same shit but faster and cheaper.

And the Vette sounds better.

Why was every Nip automaker capping their advetised HP at 276 again? If your car makes 300+, why wouldn't you be proud of it?

They weren't allowed to make more.

Vette is definitely more affordable to make fast than just about any of its similarly agreed competitors. However, as an automobile in its stock form, the nsx is better looking, and was a better drivers car when new. As such, it's Veeky Forums approved as a driving experience, but generally considered overpriced so not worth owning.

>faster

nope

Gentlemens agreement not to advertise anything above 280ps from their cars once they realized that with turbos and fuel injection they could start building things that would end up killing people and getting banned, plus insurance prices.

See the 'supercar scare' in straya back in the 70s when a bunch of pussy news reporters got scared because ford, holden and chrysler were building bathurst cars that they had to sell to the public which were getting hilariously fast.

The japanese manufacturers wanted to avoid something similar.

In reality, almost every '276hp' japanese car from the 90s is making more. The R32 GTR was making 280-290hp in stock low boost trim, there was a small orange/red tab in the boost controller that when removed would allow the engine to hit 1bar and which pushed it up to 330-340hp, there were reports of cars coming back from the first service at the dealers with the tabbed removed if you hadn't already done it.

The MK4 supra was making around 310-320hp at stock boost, the GTO was pretty much the same and the 300ZX was somewhere around 300hp.
The evo were making over 276hp back in the IV, the TME 6.5 was at 330hp with just a tune for europe.

it's actually an Infernus I believe.

Also in fairness to the supercar scare
>that in testing, the first time both he and Colin Bond gave the car full acceleration it broke the windscreen due to the V8's much greater torque.

Thanks user

Hondas are inherently FWD

God, the FD is clearly the best car in that list. The only thing it isn't first in, it ties for second, and only misses first by a cunt hair.
