Well, it's better drawn, not stretched out, and doesn't suffer from bad animation like DB suffered some episodes.
That said, DB also had good animation sometimes, and watching old DB fights animated is really fun due to the focus on martial arts rather than ki blasts and zwee vanishing.

The old Dragon Ball anime has actually decent filler, much better than Z's. Like Goku and Chichi's wedding adventure. Plus when the fights are good, damn are they good. Give it a watch some time.

I finally finished the story the other night (credit roll and everything, you're not too far off) and doing post-game stuff I'm starting to wonder my goal is now. Already my core team just wrecks everything and the AI at this level is just 'pick one character and focus on them endlessly,' which isn't too bad except it makes that it makes battles really boring.

Collecting all the characters and outfits is certainly a thing, but the level of customization is so low that I'm feeling less motivated than I would for something like pokemon or whatever.
