Because it's up to the individual to determine what high end sports cars are considered super cars. Some people do consider top trim vipers to be super cars

because it's just a variant of an existing sports car. You'd have an argument if the normal Viper didn't exist

It's neither a supercar, not a hypercar. It's a heavily optimised sportscar that is extremely good at what it does.

Because it's not European. Europeans are still assblasted about the ACR being able to out preform their million dollar cars, at 1/10th the price. Stricly speaking, yes. A maniacally fast one with too much power, but a sports car nonetheless.

Now, if America could just get off their collective asses and produce something like the P1, 918 or LaF, that's be great. You've shown you can make a modern supercar with the (mostly American) NSX and Ford GT, now look for that hybrid hypercar. Problem is, I don't see any American brand going that far: Mopar would effectively compete with itself (Ferrari), Ford has the GT already, with no real reason to go beyond that level, and GM - well, it's GM, they'll let you down eventually. Maybe, just maybe, a mid-engined halo Cadillac - but that'd have a bigger chance of falling flat on it's face than it would have to succeed.
