I normally take orbs but I see the appeal on DR, I went ahead and grabbed DR for Tesoro to try it. I's not like I was going to get above stage one on most teams for either anyway so this'll be interesting, and Orbs has always been the lowest priority of the 5 core sockets since it's still luck based.

The word you are looking for is "fucked". "Cucked" would mean that you agreed that Duval could fuck your gf/wife.. Duval was horrible for me too, I got 3 skillups out of 21 copies

If you are lucky we will get the perma-increase in skillup soon, so you can max him out in ~15 copies.

Okay, so Wapol is your orb locker, how do you get the matching orbs? Does Boa do something that lets Shiki give matching?

Boa changes orbs to TND which Fuji causes to count as matching. It's still a LITTLE bit of luck required but as long as you DON'T get matching orbs before she does it then you're fine.
