You can trade them some things, but you cant trade until MR 2-3 i forget which. Each trade also has a limited number of items in each transaction and they MUST give you something in return. You are limited in the number of trades you can make per day based on your MR. Each item in the trade will have a credit tax associated with it which prevents you from donating to the poor

Loki needs the same weapons as anyone else unless you want to do missions undetected which is a massive waste of time.

Get an all-rounder primary from that list with a low MR requirement. The Hek or the Boltor Prime for example. Those will carry you through whatever mission you can't complete with the weapons you're otherwise leveling. I think a shotgun is a better choice because modding it is less costly.

A few suggestions I haven't seen mentioned.

Loki's melee attacks gain damage from stealth. His ranged weapons don't, so you don't need to worry about that when picking a gun.

As far as melee weapons go, Broken War is worth waiting for - it's not crafted, but a reward from The Second Dream, and comes with its own inventory slot and potato. Statwise, it can hold its own at all levels of play. Worth holding out for if you're on a budget.

If you don't actively use the weapon it doesn't get any xp at all from your kills, but it does get split XP from other sources e.g. teammate kills, objective complete, affinity orbs. Read the wiki about affinity.

WF has very few new players, and what new players there are quickly learn that the key to getting ahead in the game is to do sorties, alerts, nightmares, orokin derelicts, and fissures. Everyone goes through the star chart ONCE, to unlock the nodes and soak up mastery points, other than that, there is no point (besides fun, if you enjoy doing extremely piss easy content).
