The one thing that is certain, is that it isn't using straight wins and losses as its metric.

What is the optimal griefing strat now? I used to do Symmetra teleporter over a pit, but that only works about 50% of the time now since people have gotten used to it.

I've been trying Roadhog the Ult Battery, running into the enemy team and healing to help charge the enemy team's ults and give them lots of damage. That seems to work pretty well, but I wonder if there are better strats I hadn't tried yet?

The ranking system last season was too generous, so they tweaked it this time around. One of the most important factors in determining rank is what you were in the previous season.

We don't fucking know how it works but if you were a high rank last season you'll place with a high rank almost guaranteed.

At this point I honestly think they're just placing people a few hundred lower for the lulz and to make it easier on them.
If that's the case, why fucking bother with placement matches?

I placed at 3134 last season and then didn't play for months, so I decayed to 3000. Came back, lost like 2 games and went down to 2950. Finished there.

I more mean that I need to stop being average in everything because I keep trying to do everything. If all my stats are average, i'm going to place average.

Right now from my placements, I look like a pretty middle of the road player, when I'm playing well just in multiple roles. The fact i'm on the board at all is a testament to some of my team not doing great.
