A V8 turbo one

No, the best base to start with you fur fag.

So a 740?

850R

...

Pretty much any redblock volvo but I find the 740 easiest to work on so I'd go with that. Currently daily a 240. Might turbo it if it survives the winter.

Any RWD one, so a 240/740/940/any of their variants.

It needs a V8 though.

Don't call me names fgt
Start with a 24x senpai, best styling IMO

...

Gtfo this is a Volvo thread

OP asked for a turbo brick, Typhoons and Cyclones are turbo bricks. Sexy, fucking amazing turbo bricks.

Deal with it fagget.

83 242 turbo intercooler flathood

...

Flat hood is over rated

So 740 wagon with 860 auto trans and a T5?
Otherwise any manual 240 and find something like a b234?

I can't seem to find any info on the T5 and longitudinal rwd manuals, other then a European only one. Maybe adaptor plates and a common American m/t is the way to go.
Also can't find any flathoods, we're they a short run of years?

I don't think an ls swap makes for a proper Swedish turbobrick.

>I don't think an ls swap makes for a proper Swedish turbobrick.
You thought wrong?

850 T5 R

ls swaps are gay on bricks, it ruins the volvo heritage

You know what's gay?
Automotive purists like yourself.

lmao it actually is me, I'm at a friends house and don't have my tripcode, good call senpai

98 v70 is the best looking volvo, but most of them are 4 speed auto FWD.

>98 v70
>Best looking
It's just a big fucking [spoilerzzz]beauty to look at. [/spoilerzzz]

The 24# series are objectively the only true bricks, the 7 and 9 are good but not quite brick shaped. 240s also had the largest engine bay I believe, so wrenching is a breeze

7 series are heavier with less suspension travel if rallycross is on your mind.

Which it should be.

Any major differences between the 850 and first gen V70 that I need to know about if there's a chance I purchase either one in the coming weeks?

>caring about suspension travel
90% of people will either cut the springs or build custom coilovers, both of these options leave you with about 2-3in of suspension travel.

>what's the diff?
not a whole lot
v70s have throttle by wire after 99 i think; it's crap
I think they have the bigger (white?) fuel injectors, but I could be mistaken and they're only on the XC70
they also have cabin air filters and windshield gutters standard which are nice and can be transferred over to 850s without too much hassle
>cabin filter helps blower fan bearings last longer
>windshield gutters mean that you can use the wipers and leave the side windows open without getting water in the cabin
you can also take the roof racks from a v70 and put them on an 850 (and vice versa), all the mount holes are pre drilled and sealed with silicone and plastic bits on every body, even no roof rack models
remember to take the gutter trim and all the rack hardware tho
there's other minor differences, but they're similar to the differences between early and later 850s (pre '95 vs. '96+)

Don't make it harder than it has to be, just drop in a M90. Just make sure its from a whiteblock and not redblock.
3rd gear is known to be a weak point.
Here is a 624hp one busting 3rd:

Dumbass

How do you go about making a car look this good? The only Volvo wagons I see around here are not.pretty and would need work and I don't know anything about fixing stuff up.

I've seen an add for an 850 wagon for like 1000 dollars but would need a little body work and painted and work on things besides it's appearance.
