The fact that Ford couldn't manage to make a V8 last for a LeMans "race car" shows how incompetent their engineering team is then. Other V8s in the field do fine. In fact, they are designed by Nissan- almost their whole lineup is full of i4's and V6's and they KNOW the V8 is superior.
