2018 Ford EcoSport - For US Market

Ford's bringing it's EcoSport to the US.

For people who didn't know this existed, this SUV(well a lifted Fiesta I'd say) has been present in the Asian and some European markets for atleast 4 years.

Available with 2 engine options.

>2.0L 4cyl (it hasn't said anywhere that this is an EcoBoost)
Choose this engine and get the AWD option.

Both engines come mated with a 6 speed auto.

Get the Titanium trim and you'll get the 10 speaker Harman system.

I live in Thailand and my company car is a Ford EcoSport. It drives okay but I don't think it's ugly actually.

I don't think so. But Mazda simply just produces it and people seem to like it so far.

No one asked for a smaller C-Class, the CLA. But they are still selling well.

Is the giant spare wheel cover compensating for something? The stock tires are several sizes smaller and the wheel openings don't look like much larger wheels would fit under them.

I can't believe body styles like this and the Buick Encore / Chevy Trax are more market viable than wagons.

Turbos aren't a replacement for displacement. A 2.0L turbo will produce more power than a 1.0L turbo if everything else is equal

What bugs me about this is that we already have the C-Max in the US, which is basically the same size and shape - the only differences are that the C-max is a hybrid and doesn't have AWD as an option, and it has a normal car ride height. Apparantly Ford would rather go through the cost and expense of importing/introducing an entirely new model rather than actually market what they're already selling...

But this isn't the 90's.

Have fun with more mechanical problems and shit mileage when you are just a tiny bit more aggressive than a prius.
