I've met Doug in person, and he's a swell guy just doing his thing, exploring various topics and trying different activities he might enjoy and be able to write about. He certainly isn't an "attention whore" or trying to hard, he's doing what he likes.

I go to get my information from other sources when I'm doing proper research on cars, and I visit Doug and other various channels more for entertainment purposes.

I've tried hard to give a shit about Doug's videos but they are woefully unfunny and only marginally informative. He gets to drive cars that most of his viewers will never even sit in and then his actual commentary is limited to "THIS BUTTON IS IN A WEIRD PLACE" and a close up of his face as he does a 60mph pull on a backroad going "WOW ITS FAST". He tries to cover the experience of owning a given car long-term but comes off as somebody that doesn't really know anything about what he's gotten into other than what he read about a car on wikipedia.
