Dominions is a fantasy turn-based war game created by two dudes. One of them is a teacher.
The game combines a simple presentation with an extremely wide array of strategic options, including over 2800 units, 800 spells and 300 magic items. Turns are resolved simultaneously, with players planning battles rather than directly controlling them.
It has simplistic graphics but is easily moddable and extremely deep.
Basically, it's an autist’s wet dream of a war game.
>Dom4 Inspector This is a community resource that has every unit, spell, and item in the game in an accessible database. larzm42.github.io/dom4inspector/
What's wrong with LA already? I know that wizards play differently and are usually less versatile, but that's all.
Jace Torres
Who is the blastiest mage without communions? I am leaning towards Basalt Kings.
Blake Foster
>100 gold worth of commanders >205 gold worth of mages >440 gold worth of archers >380 gold worth of spearmen >1200 gold worth of elephants >in exchange for a few sneks Sound investment, Berry. You sure killed some sneks.
Not that this is some spectacular or astounding military victory, but now that I see my demise approaching, I'll savour everything I can get. I'm still baffled that you haven't removed me 20 turns ago, I've been the underdog this entire war.
Nicholas Richardson
Recruitable mage I mean. No super demon summons or things like that.
Christopher Brooks
Probaly Bouda or Spire Horn/Caelian Seraphim in a storm.
Aaron Allen
Everyone good is blood Everyone else is shit
Zachary Lopez
I'd say evocation 9 researched and any of the big boys who are able to pull of the W5/F5 spells boosted or with gems.
Wyatt Garcia
How do you beat E9N9?
Cameron Williams
Posting it again.
Jaxson Torres
Blood is shit. It's immoral and bad.
Charles James
At what experience amounts do you get stars, and what were the effects of each star, again?
Grayson Hernandez
E9N9 on what? Strategies will differ depending on what it's blessing
Dylan Richardson
>only 50 ants What happened?
Jaxson Long
Each start gives you a promotion. I think the experience thresholds were 20/60/120/200
Elijah Morales
In EA, Agartha and Fomoria are quite a bit better than Hinnom and Abysia.
MA Xibalba remains shit in spite of having blood.
Jose Hughes
Armored elite berserkers.
Carson Diaz
Today in CanIntoHost:
Eriu siege stack of blessed elves routed by unconscious Wraith Lord.
Jordan Rivera
>Unexpected event >Calf is born with 3 heads >Turmoil +2 wich equals to the entire province going apeshit barbaric just because a calf was born mutated Fucking commoners
Adam Long
Just imagine Turmoil +3 that would've resulted from a four-headed calf.
Matthew Ward
Forgot the screenshot.
Christopher James
nigga just tell us the name of the unit
Cameron Nguyen
It's nationgen.
Austin Reed
Is it those 3 attacks (two of which are magical) size 3 large HP Berserk 7 dudes? because those are ridiculous, and there's no cost effective way to deal with them. Spam out elementals or evo or whatever and accept that you'll have to put out significantly more gold and mage support than the dude using them because they're just overpowered.
Josiah Moore
Also, everyone in that game should be ganging up on the person using them, because it's trivial for them to roll over multiple players with those guys if you don't team up to stop him.
Owen Morales
Can you post a screencap of their statline?
Brayden Hall
What Nation?
Colton Ross
I think Tisor? I don't remember for sure, but it's the ones with the flail (has 2 attacks) and a bite attack.
Connor Adams
Yeah, but each star had different effects. I think all of them gave +1 morale, and most or all of them increased att, def and prec, but only some gave +str and only IIRC the fourth star reduced enc by 1.
Nicholas Watson
>MA Xib is shit Ways are still the number one blood searcher in the game and recruitable in any forest
Blake Green
>the number one blood searcher How do they beat Mictlan priests? 140g vs 65g is a huge difference, and for a pure blood searcher you don't need N2 or flying or turning into a jaguar.
If it's solely because forest-rec, eh. Maybe. Definitely a good benefit.
Justin Miller
Yes, those are the guys I'm worried about. Actually, I have no plans of going to war with the, but still, they're scary. Here it is blessed and berserk. The HP was 35 to start with, which rounds to four HP regenerated per turn.
Kayden Hernandez
So is claiming godhood though, and sending young men to die horribly in your selfish wars.
Ian Taylor
Shit, that's true.
Angel Taylor
Eh, not sure claiming godhood is immoral, doesn't it depends if the god is going to be evil or good? Besides in a world where everyone is racing for it you might as well male sure the next ruler of all creation is a good one. However I do agree sending people to die for you is immoral. But I was wondering, If X pretender wins can't he just decide to resurrect all soldiers who died or make them go to his own Heaven?
Brandon Ortiz
Yep, those are the ones. They're like burning ones, but harder hitting, more hp, vastly higher prot, str, attack, MR, etc. They're basically better in every way except for their fire shield
Jacob Evans
>26 prot
Well then.
Jeremiah Fisher
Ways get a 90% vs a 50% of finding slaves, can fly to get to places fast, can make wolves/foul spawn for insta patrollers, and can cast some decent combat spells without using slaves. Also don't need a fort/temple/lab, just a lab.
Wyatt Collins
Spam gifts from heaven, if you can, or powerful fire stuff, or maybe something like Se'irim.
Chase Wood
oh shit right, blood searcher 1 well ok then
Jeremiah Bennett
But if you lose then they will surely be punished for standing against the true god.
Kayden Thomas
But hey they have only 2 defence while berserking. You're bound to get some hits in.
Gavin Allen
Critical hits halve their prot. So in other words, it's going to be 13.
Hudson Hughes
Embrace it. Mortals are simply a tool, or in the case of Blood magic, a bargaining chip.
Jackson Rogers
After 20 rounds of combat, sure.
Jayden Campbell
Or wait, no - it's never going to happen because E9. Or rather, it won't be particularly very likely until past the autorout timer. GOOD LUCK
I think your best bet is to spam AN stuff at them that also isn't MR-negates because they have 17 MR too for some reason. so... lightning evo. A dickload of crossbows will eventually whittle them down (bearing in mind that regular crossbows will average -2 damage, so they'll only even tickle them a little under 1/3rd of the time) and the same goes for spammed high-AP damage stuff like elementals
Cameron Garcia
Your best bet, strategically, is going to be to attack their land with all of their other neighbors. Sure they'll be able to crush your armies because their sacreds are stupid, but if everyone attacks them at once then they'll still lose ground since they just won't be able to cover everything.
Carson Butler
>that regular crossbows will average -2 damage a tad more, won't it? Since piercing damage reduces their prot by 20%.
11 damage xbow vs 26 prot prot is halved (AP), and 80% effective (piercing). 26*.5*.75 = 10.4 (round up or down?)
So you're at like 10 + DRN vs 11 + DRN if it rounds down. Joy.
Carter King
Well, they still take fatigue even with reinvigoration 4. Stellar Cascades spam would put them to sleep. Too bad nobody has that.
>crossbows In order to not have them fully healed by next turn, you need to do four damage per unit. That means you want more than a dozen crossbows per one of them. With fifteen crossbows per one, you should be able to whittle them down in 35 turns. 24 crossbows per one will take them out in about 8 or 9 turns, so if you're facing an army of thirty of them (not an unreasonable number) you're going to need more than seven hundred crossbows to win in a reasonable timeframe. And that's assuming these guys don't plow through your front line and kill the crossbows first.
Justin Thompson
But I want to be a god that leads mankind. Like, I dunno, a Boddhisava of Mercy.
Charles Wood
Slaanesh and tzeentch, you guys on discord at all?
Ryan Thomas
That comes after your ascension. You gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet.
Hunter Phillips
Nope. Just send it in game.
Jose Walker
Well Machaka, getting fed gems by another player tends to prolong wars.
Jason Cook
Hey my good friend who responded to my message.
I've sent you 30, can you send them this turn as well? Need them as quickly as possible.
Also while I'm in here, Vanheim, if you can liberate my capital from these Marignese barbarians, I will support you for the rest of the game.
Parker Bailey
Vanheim is CoolStory. Your best shot is to hit him up on Steam or dm him on Discord.
Landon Gonzalez
Then take F and N and cast The Kindly Ones, unleash your divine fury on those who would harm innocent women! Is The Kindly Ones buffed in summod? If not it should get one, blood nations really need a late game counter
Isaiah Johnson
"""""""COUNTER"""""""
But yeah, that's a thing he said he was considering, and I'm down with it too.
Strong blood counters will, of course, out on the same patch that Oceania gets blood.
Landon Clark
To be fair, I got my first and only shipment of gems about three turns ago.
James Sullivan
Just a little reminder, /domg/ will play against /rlg/ tomorrow in the Veeky Forums League. The schedule says it'll be at 19:30, but you should never trust it to be very accurate. Further information can be found on the wiki: implyingrigged.info/wiki/Veeky Forums_League_7

19:30 what time? CET?

REEEEEEEEE SPIDER NIGGERS DO TURN
Sebastian Rivera
There are entirely sensible reasons for Blood to not work underwater. It'd just wash away and such.
Jacob Long
God why are there so many timezone names. UTC is just pretty much GMT. Which is the same as CET-1. And the same as EST+5
Bentley Brooks
If I snapped off every limb of a monster like that, would she die?
Andrew Cruz
Yeah, they need shores to hunt, but then they summon shark fiends and devil rays and EliteZeon made some dank sprites and it'll be great.
Brandon Jones
UTC is GMT sans Daylight Savings. This makes sense for servers and such.
Samuel Johnson
Oh that's nice. The timezones always gets messy when daylight saving starts.
Remember to drink milk its good for your bone structure.

ashen thread
Luke Jones
...
Grayson Sanders
I always wondered how weaponized skeletons would be like. The only ones I know are the skeleton wheels in Dark Souls, otherwise they're left at their own devices.
Oh, and the revenants from Doom too I guess.
Leo Sanchez
if i were to design a skeleton nation they would be trans-human skeletons that bonecraft themselves into giant warmachines and giants made up of smaller skeletons
Charles Davis
Can you make mod units that split into multiple units when they die?
Give me ten minutes to see if I can track down that old Veeky Forums thread with the skelecopters.
Camden Davis
>skeletons archers >they shoot bones over the walls >defenders don't understand >then a bone catapult throws a few skulls >skeletons start forming inside the fortress
Connor Howard
You forgot skeletons riding other, giant skeletons.
Brayden Campbell
If only fields of the dead worked like that
Landon Richardson
might nagot gick fel on sufficiently large battles
Owen White
Illwinter's questionable coding won't stop me from realizing my dream of recursive skeleton skeletons
Carson Diaz
Worm Mage sorta works like that
Matthew Mitchell
Holy shit lol
Caleb Gonzalez
Bob Agartha, are you here? Wanted to do some talking.
Lincoln Baker
What about a national battle spell that summons some reforming skeletons?
James Walker
Hmm. How about giving the dyingshape an autospell that summons 2 or more partial skeletons or whatever and kills the dyingshape?
Charles White
This is the proper way to necromance.
Parker Miller
Sorry forgot my name
Justin Lewis
I don't know anything about modding but that sounds like it could work, you'd just have to be careful that the battlefield doesn't fill up completely by keeping the sizes of the lesser skeletons controlled
Ian Perez
Basically, spells like Swarm and HoS have a check built into the spell before it's cast to see if there's room on the battlefield for it. Even something as simple as making one of them a 'nextspell' effect can cause the game to crash because that check is removed and the battlefield can be overfilled.
What you can do is give it a death-shape thing (skelepart a) that summons a second thing (skelepart b) without the autospell, but if the autospell thing waits until the start of skelepart b's turn to cast, it might still cause issues. I'm not even sure how to properly test this.
Adam Flores
It would make sense and be pretty easy to make sure that the sum of the sizes of the smaller skeletons is equal to or less than the size of the larger skeleton.
A size 6 giant skeleton dies into a size 3 ogre skeleton and three size 1 incomplete skeletons. A size 3 ogre skeleton dies into a size 2 man skeleton and one size 1 incomplete skeleton. A size 2 man skeleton dies into two size 1 incomplete skeletons.
Although probably with some degree of randomness with those merely as the caps.
