Nintendo killed Splatoon by ending splatfests. Simple as that. I doubt they'll even have crossplay when the Splatoon port to Switch comes out.

If there's crossplay between the Wii U and Switch then /ink/ will be immortal.

The problem is most of /ink/ did not come here, on the most desperate did, and they found a harsh and uncaring general. So the few that did move here and the fewer that stayed are bitter and rightfully hostile.

Splatoon is still played elsewhere just avoid /nintyg/

i think it depends on what weapon you're using. i know you can never reduce the amount of shots needed to kill, but you can get it up to 99.9 with certain weapons

Those games were only "on rails" as far as you could only cut trees/surf/enter the next route after beating a certain gym. It's just annoying that there's a cutscene and exposition every single time you arrive somewhere.

First island is a giant tutorial, second island is better. Not at the third island yet.
Some of the battles are challenging if you aren't preparing type-effective teams for them, which is really good imo. I'm liking the game.
