Doubling money

Showed Runescape to my younger brother a few years back. Left him to play for awhile and he said he found some guy doubling money. He traded him 10k, got back 20..traded 100k, got back 200k, etc. He got up to around 2m. I kept waiting for him to get scammed once he traded enough gold, but it never happened. Now he thinks people doubling are legit and tries to "outsmart" them.

People are greedy. They know how the game works, the doubler is likely to double up to a certain amount before running off with a larger amount of money. So people play the game and hope they cash out before he runs off.

Among nodes, nebula is the best xp rate until you hit 90. Not the best points of course, and the guide doesn't compare them to wraiths, but it gets really sickening to need to click every 5 runes.

Yep, this is usually how it works. I've traded a fair amount of doublers just to see what happens. Depending on their cash stack, and how long they think you'll keep going, you could walk off with a good amount of profit. But the majority of the time they'll scam you
