If you could hit 40 before the trial ends that'd be pretty cool, there's a daily boost thing that gives you extra exp for 30/60 mins, if not it's fine too, hope you enjoy the game.

Depending on what you enjoy doing, fishing could be your goal, or farming, horse raising. It's whatever you want it to be.

It is cool!

Life Skills can be learned anytime so don't bother right away
Alts are really useful, just make like 5 right away and then leave them there at the tutorail, energy caps and knowledge is shared in the family so they'll all have the same energy and they regen 1 every 30 minutes while you're not playing with them. Pick them up whenever you want to do some other shit, you'll eventually specialize them to do that one thing, like farming, trading, fishing, alch/cooking whatever. They will probably all get some gathering anyway
Don't bother capturing horses if you don't feel doing the minigame, you can buy a t3 with shitty stats at 200k on the market and use that until you decide to start horse breeding. You can also get slightly better horses for a couple of millions, too

If you have the urge to collect information about life skills on an excel sheet, DON'T
It'll eat through your enjoyment in a second and you'll end up hating yourself for it

What addons are good in general for this game?

Well, if you want to be safe follow the black spirit and speak to all npcs with a dialogue icon in the mini map and do all quests,
quests give useful things like inventory slots and resources like contribution points and they will slowly teach you how to do various things
like fishing, processing, crafting etc, you could focus on xp and reach 40 in like 2-3 days but then you will have to back track hard since a lot of quests are chains, so its up to you.
Personally i did everything slowly and enjoyed every little thing i found how to do.

Took me some days to find out that you can afk fish, just buy a fishing rod and start fishing, if you just don't press spaces when it tells you after 3 minutes it will do it on its own and it will keep fishing,
good way to make some starting money overnight.

Also if you are looking for a specific npc, click on that magnifying glass on your interface and select what you want and it will show you the path.
There's lots of shit in this game, you will probably be a little lost but just take it easy.

It's easier to just make profit by either famring monsters or playing the imperial delivery market or fishing in the new sea with a boat
It's never going to get fixed, besides most of those items are either too low on demand to have pre-order sharks, or too high in demand to have a high price, so they'll either sell for shit or never sell
Special occasions tab is more or less always having a couple at just under min price, if you're trying to sell them you may want to just put them to use

Anyhow, I'll have you know this game has always had a set plan of going F2P. They were just milking you for the money upfront. Store prices will actually go down a bit after the F2P to encourage more spending.
