Depending on what deck you're running you just can't.
It is also better to use goblins than some class cards on occasion, for example, an agressive sword deck might want to run them instead of vanguards to make sure pompous will always pull out an 1-1 storm.

Is Olivia always going to exist in t2? I feel like it completely fucks everything up. Second turn already has an advantage due to nature of the draft. 3 more evolves is bullshit.

yea no shit, but if they can afford to evolve 3 times before turn 9 to maintain tempo, that's extremely difficult if they have half decent curve.

They really should change the way dailies work, so people don't have to be afraid of ranking up and eventually hitting a wall and not being able to easily do them. I think instead of "win X games as Y" they should be "play X games as Y." It would help a lot.

dshift doesn't need to petrify anything, they kill before high value pet targets get played

With cheap but good decks like StormHaven you can do win X ranked at master too with 50% WR
For everything else go in the shithole of unranked

is tempo elf really that good? i rarely lose to it with control shadow or dirtrune, they just run out of cards very quickly. i have more issues with banner. ptp elf on the other hand is almost like an auto lose unless i draw aggressive early game cards and they manage to not get removed instantly.

I imagine the system does one roll for opening by batch. If you get a shitty roll value, all the packs will mostly be shit
