The W163 was, just like its successors, built at the Mercedes plant Tuscaloosa in Vance, AL. The engagement in Alabama goes back beyond Chrysler's fusion with Mercedes-Benz. The models built in the Tuscaloosa plant displayed previously unknown quality issues, which nullified the savings from lower production costs. This led to a model update as early as 1998. Because of the high demand of the model and the quality issues during early production, small numbers of it were also built at Steyr-Puch in Graz, Austria. These cars weren't error free either, but considerably better than their American built counterparts. Only with the model update in 2002 was the American production able to reach the same quality level as those produced in Austria.

>The models built in the Tuscaloosa plant displayed previously unknown quality issues,

(you)

Asshurt amerifat spotted.

calm down Assad!!!!

>automotive regulations is why my e36 m3 (made in regensburg, germany) tears out its shock towers, trailing arm pockets and has its oil pump nut back off as common issues

>automotive regulations is why my e46 m3 (made in regensburg, germany) tears out its subframe from the chassis

>automotive regulations is why turbos are a "$2000 preventive maintenance item" when they blow a year out of warranty on n54/55 bmws and 2.7 twin turbo audis

>automotive regulations is why the w210 (made in sindelfingen germany and graz austria) e-class rusts out like a 1974 corolla

>automotive regulations is why volkswagen can't fucking do anything right whether the cars are coming out of mexico or germany and their fanboys blame them all on mexicans (never mind nissan/gm/ford have been making cars there for years without issues)

>automotive regulations is why timing chains on bmws/audis (4.2 v8 b6 s4 and m62tu 540i, all built in germany) aren't lifetime parts but "preventively replaced at 80-100k miles"

>ironically EU automotive regulations are why 1990s bmws have everything made out of the shittiest possible glues/plastics/rubber all over the car, 1990s mercedes have biodegradable wiring harnesses, and 1990s vw/audi has shit-quality paint and bodywork (look it up, it was a environmental agreement in the early 1990s to make new cars a certain % biodegradable if they were built in the EU)

why can't the germs engineer good cars? why is german engineering the biggest meme on the planet since we had panther tanks breaking down on the eastern front? are german cars even built by germans? or are they built by turks, afghans, and poles while using parts made in eastern europe and china? not like it matters when you still have people making dumb fucking engineering decisions in munich/stuttgart/wolfsburg

and they have the arrogance to blame the owner for "improper maintenance" when you don't see these issues happening on japanese luxury cars and sports cars

>be yuropoor
>get in shitbox 4 cyl
>hang new "french people" car freshener
>go to shitty job
>bmws dead on the side of the road
>shitbox breaks
>"lololol americucks m3 best 3"

Nobody denies that certain euro cars are better performance than their American counterparts.
But for the vast majority of Europeans "performance" starts and stops with a 2.0 liter engine.

It's gone the other way now. The USDM GT86 makes more power than the EUDM one due to more relaxed emissions regs.

At least Americans can afford performance cars, unlike yurocucks. How's that infestation sub-2l """"""""hot"""""""" hatchbacks treating you?

breddy gud actually. go back to complaining about not being able to compete against mexicans

don't you have refugees to take care of?

Mad amerifat.

Aren't you a 50% white country?
Go take care of your ghetto niggers.

Yeah but not as many as you lmao

ours work while yours collect welfare

hows those 60% tax rate going? and 20% vat? and 1000 euro co2 taxes when you renew your registration? tv license tax? and you're still paying $10/gallon for 100 octane, of those $7/gal are taxes/fees?

i'd start asking your legislators some questions

>ours work

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

>hows those 60% tax rate going? and 20% vat? and 1000 euro co2 taxes when you renew your registration? tv license tax? and you're still paying $10/gallon for 100 octane, of those $7/gal are taxes/fees?

You literally made up half of this shit or are spouting things that will be relevant to one or two Europen countries.
Neck yourself fatso

Is that supposed to be a lot of money? Don't worry it's okay - I'm happy to pay all that for the quality of life I get.
It's mostly Americans I hear complaining about how hard their life is because they're running low on Prozac.

>fatso

please don't insult the english like that.

reminder prozac is a american invention

My fiancé's brothers are kinda weird:

One got his license recently at the age of 27, because he finally realized the money he had saved was finally drying up, and he couldn't keep playing video games everyday like he had been for the last several years in his parents basement. So he needed a job, and he got his sister's old car after he got his license.

Her slightly less older brother still doesn't have his, and he's 25. He just bums rides from the brother who just got his license because they work together now. Before that he got his mom to drive him to work. Other than that, just stays home and plays video games with the other brother.

Both live at home with no future prospects other than working dead-end jobs, and paying minimal rent to their parents.

She's pretty normal. Got her license at 17/18 after high school so she could go to college and come home on long weekends or holidays. She has a new car now that her parents are paying for because she's the only child going to college. I think they're secretly ashamed of their sons, and are so willing to help out their daughter because she actually has goals in life.

Pretty much, we're getting married. Moving into our own place so we aren't harassed for money on a constant bases. One of those fuckers asked me to buy him a PS4 game for dating his sister. I just tried to laugh it off like he was joking. But, they're always asking to come with us when we go out to eat. We stopped that after the 2nd time they expected us to pay for their meals. Like wtf? You're adults.

Germans made the first car but god damn did they fuck it up from the 1990's and onwards. Euroshit industry needs a new awakening.
