So Veeky Forums, why don't more people use these gate gear shifters instead of the boot. I think it's much better looking honestly.

I'd drop my mcdonalds french fries in there

hello my fellow American

Same

because most people don't care about it and are ALSO too nasty and accidentally stuff all kinds of shit into that hole

inb4 that Veeky Forumstist who triggered Veeky Forums massively by making webms of him letting things "vanish" in the shifter

Meh. I'm partial to the faux leather boots.

>webms
i wanna see

You don't.

It's horrible.

i also really wanna see

Looks kinda cheesy to me desu

I'd rather have a discreet leather boot than feel like I'm trying to showcase that I drive stick

True gated shifter, or a mock gated bezel?

Most people wouldn't want to use a true gated shifter.

The gated bezel looks cool but doesn't really add anything. As the first poster said, more people would complain that shit fell into the hole than maintain their car.

Came here to say this, but cheetos.

This girl could probably make more money doing porn than these shitty ads.

...

slow chuckle

They are tough to keep adjusted, too much effort for a shitbox

what the fuck needs to be adjusted? or are you just talking out of your ass like you always do?

Love these webms

You do realize on gated shifters the gate actually affects the operation of the linkage right? If a bushing wears too much or if a shifting rod is bent slightly you will lose gears because the gate limits the travel of the shifter. Of course that was a rhetorical question, I know of course you have never touched one and have no idea how they work.

yeah that's what i thought. stupid tripfag

Think before you post.

>a bushing wears out and it will miss gears as a result
holy fuck so like any manual transmission?

stop samefagging, it's pathetic.

No, not at all, you fail to understand how sensitive gates are, especially since most of them are in MR cars which have very long linkages going to the back of the car, which also have to be dampened quite a bit between the shifter and where they enter the engine bay because you can't have any vibration on the gate. A normal car you can not even have a bushing and still get into gear, it will feel like shit sure, but work.

No. I am and and but not

front engine cars don't need them because their shifter linkage usually isn't wobbly crap.

mid engine cars don't have standard transmissions anymore

accordion is the only way to go. standard boot is fucking disgusting.

>dat spaceship cockpit
hhhnnnnnngggg

i want to wife her desu

I personally like my boot. With a gate like that I feel like it would slow down my shifts.

kek wheres the one where the dude takes the sauce packet from his tendies and does the same shit?

interior design peaked in the 80s

it only works well on certain jap shitboxes tho.

like that in a miata would look silly.

but its perfect in an AE86

Because I drive automatics. I'm not a self righteous autist

>autotragics cannot have a boot

kek

the accordion is a poverty boot

The gated shifter is goat. Even though this tryhard tripfag is rattling on about them like only he could understand why they are impractical, they are still cool

saying you like driving and only driving automatics is like hiring a prostitude and then being too scared to do anything

why the fuck do i have to drive manual to be an enthusiast? most of the driving is in the wheel, not in how the fucking gear changes are actuated.

AAAAAAAAAAAAH

i remember this thread, please post the tendies one

Gated shifters have a secondary boot.

the sheer amount of webms was frightening too.

he really went down on that shit.

>most of the driving is in the wheel, not in how the fucking gear changes are actuated.
Post you buss-pass you cuck

I owned a 5mt miata before. save that tired ass shit for someone else. i grew the fuck up and got a steptronic 335i

>be you
>desire chore tier driving experiences
>"im an e-enthusiast in my 5mt corolla"

>i am old

>liking cars
>thinking driving a manual is a chore
steptronic more like scrubtronic

Dont reply to manualfags, ret.

>grew up
>bmw
>not m3 v8
>not manual
>got rid of miata
So much retard in one post holy shit

hnnnnnnnnnnnnng

tell me more about your truck 5 spd with a short throw in your miata

wow nice totally incorrect assumption

They are ugly as hell desu.
Never saw one in the whild, but for a reason I'd imagine it would be easier to change gear directly on a classic shifter, rather than getting it into one of those tunnels.

> can't N shift

do you even diagonal op
