Is Impreza really always the answer?

Is Impreza really always the answer?

Yea I guess if you wanna be wrong

If you hate having a running car

Why? I thought Subaru was a reliable brand?

Its reliable if you dont plan on driving it

it will get stolen and written off before it breaks down

I don't even see why this board bothers to discuss anything non-Subaru.

I mean, is there even anything else out there?

>Reliable

>Simple

>Lots of parts commonality between models

>Parts everywhere even for models made 30 years ago

>Rally heritage

>Porsche knock-off brand without the retarded German engineering and catastrophic German reliability

>Can be repaired with literally 3 tools and 3 different socket sizes

You described a corolla.
Not sure what youre talking with german stuff and subaru???
But subaru is FAR from reliable.
I would buy one if they didnt build retarded flat engines

found the no car subaru fanboy

>Reliable

toyota

>Rally heritage
toyota
>Porsche knock-off brand without the retarded German engineering and catastrophic German reliability
everything is porsche knock off
>Can be repaired with literally 3 tools and 3 different socket sizes
idk haven't wrenched that much

Now subarus are neat and I kinda want one and I've seen what a tuned one can do. They also have their neat charm of being 4 doors and can still destroy most ricer cars. And my country doesn't have the subaru culture US has.

But they aren't exactly famous for their reliability.

>I would buy one if they didnt build retarded flat engines
not even a subaru fanboi but after driving some the boxer does make sense since it gives a lower center of gravity.
They are great in corners.

>center of gravity memes
Flat engine is retarded.
>still sits high
>still sits VERY far forward
>lots of weight over the wheels
>more difficult to service
>most aluminum I4s would make the car handle better
Now please be a retard and tell me im wrong.

you got any data on engine swapped subarus cornering abilities?

And yet a Toyota doesn't have a true mechanical 4WD or make 280 HP stock.

Never had a Subaru that wasn't reliable.. from a wrx to a brz to an sti.

Pretty true, really. The block sits a bit lower but then all of the accessories are mounted high, so the benefit is reduced. A WRX weighs 3300 lbs, so moving the 300 lbs block down a couple inches isn't going to be the biggest difference in the world.

Know that stock subarus handle like a wet hotdog, there is nowhere to go but up.

>our engines are flat
>must be a porsche knock off!
wew lad

they're set up to understeer under power.
because of the center differential, the loss of traction in the front sends the power to the back.

this is why the wrx is synonymous with crashing into trees.

you need a big rear sway bar at the very least, knowing how to drive them helps a lot too.

>the loss of traction in the front sends the power to the back

you know this helps reduce understeer right?
The front wheels can now spend less friction on accel and more on turning

Nigga what
Power is divided 50:50 between the front and rear axles in Manual Subarus

Toyota fanboy detected
explain why my 09 corolla with 55k miles burns 3 quarts of oil every oil change (4000 miles) and how Toyota refuses to acknowledge their bad piston ring design being the problem
apparently Toyota put out a TSB for excessive oil consumption and claims its normal to burn 1 quart of oil every 1200 miles
also this engine (2.4 2AZ-FE) was put in 13 cars from 2001 - 2015 so it isn't just one toyota model having problems

thats what i said. and the sudden transfer of power brings the rear end around, wrapping your car around a tree

under ideal driving conditions this is true. do you know how a center differential works? Subaru does not use a welded or locked center diff.

No.
Forester is always the answer.
But actually, The only three cars Subaru should make are the Forester, the STI, and the Impreza.

Yep, dunno how but a first gen (US) FXT weighs 15lbs less than an STI

how are those subaru brats/targa pickup/whateveritiscalled?

Get a Baja if you're thinking of it. But really don't, just get an H6/Turbo Outback because you'll have far more use for the wagon than a useless truck bed.

Damn straight. Got a Forester S-Turbo and lemme tell ya, it's terrific.

This. The truck bed on the Brat/Baja is not large enough to justify it being a bed. A wagon layout with a roof rack is far better for just about every application

...

At least it's not a blown head gasket.
That's what you get for buying a new Corolla in general though ;>)

>oil consumption was only from 98 to 02
>oil ring problem was only 98 to 02
>was easily solved
>corolla doesnt come with 2azfe
Do you just love talking out your ass?

Yes

Why even have a snorkel that high?
The plugs on a boxer engine are lower than the air intake
