Ever thought that maybe this is why these threads die so quickly? What scares off posters is the constant fighting over the discord and circlejerks, you can't go back to some nonexistent "good old days" when nobody from back then wants to participate anymore

Its because of the Discord that the thread is dead now. Loads of folks there used to be regulars here but now they've got something "better" they don't wanna actually talk about the game they all play.

Have you interacted with these regulars at all or do you just assume that they've lost interest because of the group chat? It's not that they have something better, it's that they have something that's more consistent and lasts longer, if you keep perpetuating that the thread is dead and having friends is what killed it then of course nobody will post here because they'll see no point in posting something that you yourself claim is dead. There's no poitn in you makign these threads if you're just going to use them to say the thread is dead.

How to mod?

It's $200 in one sitting, but if you space it out over a few months like I have, you're spending $20 or $30 every couple of pay days. That's not as hard on your wallet.

And let's face it, we all play The Sims often enough.

I'm now completely up-to-date with my cracked version, so anything I spend going forward is content I don't already own.

Yeah, that's what forced me to actually buy the game (for as cheap as humanly possible).

check this place out. There isnt a maxis match tab for clothing, but there is one for hair.

other then that you will find maxis looking clothing and stuff.. There are always going to be IMVU clothes out there. Its a given.

At least in TS2 if you went with the more detailed shit it still looked alright. Having TS3 hair that was ported to Skyrim and then to TS4 on something cartoon-y just doesn't fit.

Yeah, alpha hairs and all that shit didn't seem /too/ out of place in sims 2. They were fine in 3 as well depending on textures.

Should I give 4 another chance? I played it when it first came out, and I really didn't care for it. My favorite thing to do in The Sims is build houses, but I found the build/buy system in 4 to be really disappointing and frustrating to use. I got back into 3 recently but it seems like most of the content creators are moving onto 4 and I'm starting to wonder if I'm missing out. Did they improve the game much with recent expansions and patches?

I really think a good 90% of the people complaining about this game (muh toddlers, disable supernaturals!) are fans of the photorealistic skins, probably because they want The Sims to be something it has never been.

Or, they should of have just made a better game. FFS, even the Base Sims 2 game had more content than Sims 4. EA just employs lazy women these days.
