That episode sucked holy shit

I really hope they dont keep trying to force this kind of "comedy" there was no need for a full episode of military training, wtf were they thinking.

Just got hyped to watch it and then I saw this thread.

>even IMDB thinks it shits

You know they fucked up

imdb.com/title/tt6068824/?ref_=ttep_ep2

7.7/10 is not a bad rating.

The positive reviews are deluded, there was nothing funny or interesting about the spec ops mission bit.

Total fucking travesty, I pirated it and I still feel robbed.

9.6+ is instant classic
9.4-9.5 is great
9.0-9.3 is good
8.0-8.9 is acceptable
Sub 8 is not okay

>Pirate gets cucked
LOL

the military stuff should have last like 15 min max

>paying for complete garbage
LOL

Where did the "it's just as scripted as the old Top Gear" meme come from?

>lol Americans have different words for things than us

Clarkson humor is unparalleled and I'm European

Who thought cringe bits like that were a good idea, it's total timewarp

i hated the second episode and bits of the first episode but gotdamn give it an actual chance

>what a fucking diaster

so youre telling me youve seen the other episodes then?

fucking faggot.

Even the shittest of the shit Top Gear episodes didn't fall as flat as the second episode of The Grand Tour. If they continue with this scripted shit that isn't related to cars they can go kill themselves.

Seriously tho.. How the ass did this episode manage to get 7.7? Are they really shilling the reviews this hard?
Somewhere around 4 would be more realistic, and then I'm being kind.

New Top Gear was judged to be shit after a day.

Get off Jeremy's wrinkly cock you dumbass flat earther.

Right? I can't believe how shit this episode was. HOPEFULLY it's an outlier...

man that second episode was like 15% car review 85% larping

what the fuck

Just seen the TV advert a few minutes ago and it never occurred to me how little cars actually feature, it's all tanks and joke amphibious stuff, I fear the rear of the series will be the same.

Top Gear was never good.

b8

It was miserable.

I don't like you. Go away.

Anybody with half a brain could've seen how fucking cringeworthy this was gonna be.

Top Gear is dead. Deal with it.

I bet you only became a Trump supporter after he won, turncoat faggot.

Only bongs and krauts watch this garbage real men watch street outlaws

Shoo shoo Chris Evans

this

It's still a new show, so people are going to think everything done is fantastic.

It might take a while for the writers and producers to get comfortable with the guys enough to start writing episodes that seem more natural and less overall cheesiness.

There was a lot more to making top gear than just the presenters, and the folks who knew how to work with them got left behind at the BBC.

I just hope TGT lasts long enough for the team to find the right groove.

The second episode wasn't anywhere as bad as these threads made me think it was gonna be. The military training stuff could have been trimmed down but it had some funny moments. It's definitely a little forced and overly scripted but I'm sure it'll get more natural feeling with time.

There's nothing worse than fake scripted situational comedy, and this trio was always so painfully full of it.

That's what you get for not protesting earlier lads

BBC please go

It wasn't "overly scripted" it was 100% scripted. Some user said in a previous thread that although Top Gear has always been largely scripted you could believe in the moment that it's real, there was none of that here.

For example, the time when they set two caravans on fire (((by accident))), or (((accidentally))) rigged the posters on the side of a train to say "EAT ENGLISH MUFF". It's obviously scripted but plausible, those three shooting each other is not plausible in any way shape or form.

I meant it feels overly scripted which you should have inferred from the context.

TBQH TG was a pleb tier show from like 2005 onwards

fucking clarkson I knew he was gonna fuck himself up

I knew it was going to be awful when in the 1st episode they made a comment about the 2nd one not being a car show, but christ it was a fucking unmitigated disaster.

the entire military training bit was not at ll car related
on top of that, the "live die repeat" gimmick was the laziest time filler i've ever seen. just re-roll the same 5 shots over and over and over

That trainwreck of an episode had a bigger budget than an entire season of old Top Gear LMAO.

>EAT ENGLISH MUFF
>falkland numberplate
>Door falling of a rover

God this is why I liked Top Gear, when it was just these fucking three idiots talking and doing dumb shit, not fucking stupid heavily scripted jokes that weren't good.

Top Gear hasn't been about cars in over a decade/.

Reported for posting porn on a SFW board

This whole season and this special were garbage. The last 3 seasons of TG were SHIT.

:(

I really hoped it'd die after it hit the rockbottom in falkland bullshit. I hoped for closure. And now we have TWO terrible pseudo car shows. That's fucking great.

You lot are fucking circlejerk faggots. It was a good episode you fucking cucks

End yourselves if you didn't like it desu

shit i wish it were that easy to be a paid shill

I don't understand what the people whining were expecting. It's exactly as if they just picked up where they left off in the last season of real TG. If you didn't like Season 22 you aren't going to like this.

by top gear standards

(estimated)

still, if the margin or error is 500k, that's a fuckton of money

NO it bloody wasnt

Here's hoping new reshuffled Top Gear doesn't suck.

This shit isnt real right? Its all just shopped right?

>SA audience is whiter than LA audience

ayyyy

BLACKEDMAO

oh fuck that girl is hot!!

Top Gear was always about these three presenters acting like 8 year old boys and their toys. What made the older episodes great was always the BBC's clever writing and subtle "unscripted but scripted" segments like the fires from their caravaning holiday or the cow incident from their first USA trip.

The last few series had unfortunately gone a bit stale; both making adverts segments was just "look at Clarkson, what an un-PC idiot he is", the hover-van was bonkers and the less said about the India special, the better.

Top Gear as we know it died when Jeremy Clarkson punched that producer in the head. BBC New Top Gear is somewhat funny, I had some giggles yes, but Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc were just useless. May as presented it with several tubs of butter.

The Grand Tour is not quite the same because it is literally just "boys and their toys". The BBC's witty bantering dialogue is missing, it's now rather wishy-washy. It's just three blokes beating their chests for more screen time.

In the end, The Grand Tour is an improvement on New BBC Top Gear but then again, tuberculous is an improvement on Top BBC New Gear so hopefully, The GT can stride to achieve something more ambitious then that, like actual believable "un"scripted moments

This.

Britfag is absolutely right

Hammond saying "let's dance" made me chuckle.

it made me chuckle for all the wrong reasons it just fell flat

The episode wasn't that bad. Only complaint is that military part went way longer than it should have, although I thought it had its moments (like Mays and Hammond shooting each other out of spite, Mays shooting the queen because he didn't care about the monarchy then shooting Hammond to reset the game, Hammond's second try at a knife fight, etc) and the American is way too chatty. I also enjoyed how they took a piss on the celebrity racing by having another celebrity killed before she could even arrive, just like last week. It had its moments, and it was not nearly close to a "fucking disaster".

Eh they're funny presenters but it was better when they didn't have total creative control. Top gear always had that tension between producers and presenters, but as it turns out they aren't very good at writing a car show.

I'll still watch it because I like watching the boys, but lets face it, their prime was with Top Gear, and that'll never happen again.

>I'll still watch it because I like watching the boys, but lets face it, their prime was with Top Gear, and that'll never happen again.
Just fack me show up mate

These. These two comments are absolutely right.

I would disagree on it being that good, if only because the military segment was too long. But I do agree, people overblow how bad it is. I was entertained, almost as much as old Top Gear if it wasn't for the part where I had to watch old men try to be operators.

I liked everything so far except for that fat driver cunt, I'd rather have David Cameron racing than him, just get a rally driver or something holy shit

I thought he would be there just for the LA episode. If that's their Stig replacement he sucks fucking ass

Just how many BBC execs are in this fucking thread?

Let it go.
