Thoughts on this 1985 Porsche 928 S?
Really considering purchasing, only 24k miles and seems to be in excellent original condition.

Ask someone who actually knows anything about porsches. rennlist.com/forums/928-forum-69/

24k miles on a 30 year old car isn't necessarily a good thing. You need deep pockets to do the classic Porsche thing and to most people it isn't worthwhile for one of the lesser models.

Looks gorgeous. But. Is there a solid maintenance record, including a recent replacement of the timing belt and water pump? Are you a good mechanic? Do you have money for parts? Will it be your only car?

The automatic + burgundy interior make it less desirable, and the 928 is one of the less-liked Porsches out there. It's kind of funny that the 911 has evolved into being the 928.

How much?
You could also go on /diy/ and ask the board lolcow for pricing on his 928s :^)

A bit on the pricier side, $26k, what do you think?

I see these in great condition for about $10k. And by great condition I mean the owners wallet has been emptied.

i'd say go for it it was a GT so manual does not matter, and overall this was a much better car thsn the 911

If the electronics fail (and they most likely will because 30 year old car), have fun sorting that out.

meh, I'm an electrical engineer, so this would be like a coloring book for me

can you show me where you see these for $10k in great condition?

can you google?

You have to wait. Here in all of Ontario, there's one cheap Porsche exchanging hands every 2-3 months.
Don't rush it famalam.

Porsche electronics have nothing to do with engineering.

this nigga is really thinking about purchasing an autotragic front engined Porsche for $26k

bhahahahaha

youd be better off with buying a one of those vintage 911 shells for $26k

Wasn't that the first Porsche to come standard with an automatic?

Makes you think.

maybe he is, but at least he's not as retarded as you.

Aimed at the US market, after all.

>928
>lesser model
It was supposed to be the replacement for the 911

Well it is a GT car

put your trip back on
