First car thread Veeky Forums

I loved my first car, it was a AE82 Twin Cam 16V Corolla, it's a shame you don't see them on the road anymore. What was your first car Veeky Forums?

Some guy crashed into me about a month ago, shits totaled. RIP

I just got my first car the day before yesterday. Pic related though it is not mine.

TURBODODGE

Olds Vista Cruiser with a 455

At 110 mph you could actually watch the fuel needle move.

Didn't do anything to it besides paint the grille black. Glad I crashed it. Was like 16 rekt in snow storm

she was a 1985 chevy c20 with a 350. absolute beast with a top speed of 117 and 0-60 of about 9.5 seconds which wasn't too bad (for me at least)

sold it for 900 a year ago, and tomorrow I'm buying a 1986 k20 with a 350. need that 4wd for Pennsylvania winter

My dad worked at a Honda dealership and grabbed it for me after it got traded in, I miss it so much, now I'm stuck with a civic

>now I'm stuck with a civic
You were stuck with a civic before.

AUTOTRAGIC
AUTOTRAGIC IS THE WORST FIRST CAR INT HE WORLD
IM SO MAD

My first car was the Cream Colored PT Cruiser in the back, she's still running strong after 250k miles, I've handed it down to my brothers showing them how to drive. Now I'm just having some fun commuting in a Jetta which I know Veeky Forums despises but I like it.

98' Mazda 323 Astina BA

Electrics were shit, plastics were shit but damn it was my piece of shit. Loved to rev even though it went nowhere fast. I sometimes wonder where she is now.

My e46 BMW was a great little car, that is until a curry-fag decided to pull across 3 lanes of oncoming traffic in front of me in her murano and left my little bimmer totaled.

>first car
autotragic 97 corolla with potential for tuning
>second car

1 litre engine

Bought from a family member and came with a gaudy carbon fibre wrap. Plenty of quirks but it got me places
Had it for a year and it got destroyed by a fucking pothole. On the quest for a second car

Pretty much exactly this. It had been in the family since it was new. 1.3l engine, 5 gears, rear drive and little else. Even had a manual choke. Power nothing, tiny, gutless engine, but consistently pulling 40-50mpg even in the city, but I had this in the mid 90s when gas wasn't even an issue. 12" tires meant it'd drift in the rain if you really belted it. Car taught me the scandinavian flick before I knew what that was. It died a sudden death when it threw a rod at 236,000mi.

AE82 Twin Cam Seca, with a 5 speed manual and a peppy little 4A-GE bluetop.

>manual
Fuck you

corsa b """"sport"""" 1.6 16v

A 1996 Dodge neon, with a five speed manual. Pic isn't mine but is the same model and color that I had. It was my older brothers first car. When be bought himself a jeep, he gave it to me. Wasn't the best car, and the interior was noisy as hell, but it was actually pretty reliable because it was manual. Had 148,332 in the odometer when I sold it to some kid down the block from me for 650

DUDE ME TO. Except it wasnt the FX lol it was the 4AC motor. Still was a cool car and my was a three door

1992 BMW 325is.

It was a complete shitbox and I hooned the ever loving fuck out of it. Straight piped with shot oxygen sensors, it ran rich as fuck. It had 193,000 miles and the diff howled to all hell. I'm sure the suspension was shot, the on board computer didn't work, the seats were dyed, and the interior glue started to come offf. I taught myself to ger sideways in that car. I pefected heel toe and rev match downshifting in it. I won a couple races on my local parkway with it, even had a run with a Ferrari on I-87. It was a good car that was neglected as hell, as I was too poor to fix everything upfront.

I lost it when the accelerator stuck open (the linkage was rusty and caught itself) and I slammed on my brakes, causing them to lock. I slid into two parked cars.

Sold it to a kid for 800 bucks. I'm saving up for a nice clean Bronco/Ramcharger/K5 Blazer and a Honda Superhawk or a Japanese Dual Sport now. I'll get an E36 M3 one day.

I wish I was spoiled like you

This slab of magnificence. Burned more oil than it did petrol, used to run it on tesco value 20w50 as it went through it so fast and it was the cheapest stuff I could find

ITT: absolutely retarded drivers

Pic related was my first car that my parents lent me. I didn't crash it, nobody else totaled it, it's still sitting in their driveway. Comfy as fuck car.

...

this cringeworthy piece of shit in the background.
i got this fucker 2 years before i got my licence and just one week after i got my licence i bought this green car and never drive that gray piece of shit anymore.

>my
>lent

if it ain't registered under your name it ain't yours

My first. I miss this thing, especially since its always being posted here

I'm still driving mine. BMW E46 3 series coupe. 16 years old, spent the last 8 of them with me, and runs as fine as the day it rolled off the conveyor. Only problem I had with it was removing all the rice shit the previous owner left, since he was one of those dipshits who watched 2fast2furious too many times and decided to be a street racer, so then he fucked up the car without knowing what the fuck he's doing. Cost me half what I paid for it just to bring it back to stock and fix his DIY "fixes", but I'm glad I did. Love the damn thing, best driving car I've ever driven.

>free
>easy to perform basic maintenance
>reliable
>free
>can carry stuff well if needed
>not rare so it's easy to source oem and aftermarket parts
>free
It's also got realize 4wd which helps if you get stuck. I wonder what the fuel economy would be with full time 4wd, this 2.4L already gets like 18mpg for me

>real time 4wd, fucking autocorrect

Just got it few days ago

>front left lower arm is fucked
>radiator is like a nuclear bomb
>timing belt is making scary sounds
>1.5k on idle
>sometimes doesn't start

fuck it, it still looks gorgeous
not my 323f in the pic

>tfw..
>uni bro had a black astra gsi back in 2002
>I had the shittiest sample of pic related
>used to hoon to uni and back eeryday
>used to wash and wax 'em together on weekends
>used to talk and think about our cars all the time

I like VWs in general because of how they value practicality over looks (which I also like because it's plain)

First car driven was a red Corolla from 96, it was standard and unbreakable. My first car that I personally bought is my current Ford Escape and it's not horrible, but it's not my favorite either.

1992 Nissan Maxima, parents bought it for me when i turned 16. 380,000km on it when i got it in 2007 and the engine/trans blew at 429,000km in 2011. back in high school 5 of us had our own cars so this thing was everyones chariot

first car with my own money was a 1979 Toyota Supra i still own

1988 E30 316i for 600 euros
>first year of driving was with this old POS
>engine had no grunt, just valve tick, exhaust had more holes than a 3rd world constitution
>but it is RWD, it is a manual
>fixed everything needed to get it through inspection and that feels good
>road feel is excellent, the gearbox clicks into gears, its small and low with big windows
>even semi economical

let it sit in garage basically for 2 years due to lack funds to get rid of the rust and swap the wimpy engine

>today i went to inspection so that i can move to the capital
>the rusty clackatey chav-mobile passed on first try
>snowfall recently
>mad drifts everyere, all smiles, despite it having that crappy engine and a worn out clutch and rust i love it
>tommorow im dropping it off at an e30 specialist garage to remove the rust, swap the engine for a tuned m42 and move the battery to the boot

finally i can give that little shitty car some respect. if it wasnt for me it would have been sent to the scrapyard or just tortured to death in winter by some fags with obey caps.
awesome car

'83 Nissan 720. I hated to see it go but it was time to move on.

1.4
2003

Saved a bunch of money by not being able to get a girlfriend.

Bought my first car at 24 a 2016 v6 camaro

FUCK this car.

How am I spoiled? I bought it with my own money. I didn't make any of it back either in the total cost of things.

I don't understand.

First and current car is this automatic 2013 Corolla. My grandmother bought it for me and it's pretty comfy, good on gas and it's got Bluetooth stock. Gonna take care of it and it'll be reliable transportation until I buy and fix up a project car.

'97 Mazda 626 ES 5 speed

Fuckin loved that thing. It had the KL-DE which could rev high and was decently quick for being a 20 year old sedan

RIP

Thanks rod knock

one of these mexi-mobiles.
some day I'll buy another one and do an SR swap

I had a buddy with one of these.
some girl blew out the reverse gear when he was teaching her to drive manual.
>tfw sticking one foot out the door and fred flintstoning his shitbox out of the autozone parking lot

Mine. Not the actual one, but same year and color without the knock off wire wheels. Broke my DIY cherry on this car as well.

I fell for the memes and bought a doritocar.

I witnessed an 82 not 30 minutes ago at the petrol station
Look harder

SP?

got it couple months ago

First car, parents lent to me: 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. i loved it it was so much fun to put around in and you could do anything with it. It was totaled in the school parking lot by some foreigner in a Jeep.

i wish i had a pic of the wreck, it was a sport edition with leather seats and my parents got $7k from insurance, kek.

My first was a 95 GMC Safari. It had easily removable first and second row bench seats and Dutch doors in the back so taking girls to the drive in theatre was always fun. I also used to take it to this abandoned gravel grid where some trailer homes used to be and pull off sikk skids. I miss my old rape van.

got passed by one of these today
>raining, cop in far right, I'm in center, pacing cop, don't want speeding ticket
>open lane on left, red bastard comes zipping up
>I'm already at 58, speed limit is 55, car must be going 65~ and it's a construction zone
>Have newfound respect for anyone knowingly speeding like so in front of a cop
>car pulls up alongside me, I glance over
>driver is some fat hag of a woman who looks like she eats 4 portions of cottage cheese a day
>die a little inside knowing she has a funner car than I do

how did it feel knowing that you had the better car than he did

I love your dorito machine

>park on a slight incline
>absolutely fucked

95 Civic DX

bought it off the son of my dad's coworker; the son bought it off his dad but didn't drive it after he bought it because he had a baby. I was the 3rd owner, got it with 150k miles; 5 speed, manual steering, manual windows, and working A/C.

I had just gotten a new front bumper, respray, and LS Mesh before it was stolen when I was attending a lecture at campus. I owned it for nearly 4 years before it was stolen.

I miss it every day, still hope it pops up somewhere in one piece, but it probably went to a chop shop or lying at the bottom of some cliff.

why would you get that over a miata

was it manual?

You're manual : - )

was it manual?

Opinions on a mercedes w201 as my first car? Any common problems I should watch out for?

I'm leaning towards a 2.6 6 cylinder model, done 167k km and in relatively good shape

1979 chevy k20. It had a flowmaster kit but was way too expensive in gas

1999 chevy cavalier, seemed like it broke down every month and had a serious overheating problem. it shit the bed by blowing a cylinder while i carried all my stuff and my dog to my new house.

My current first car, a my grandmother's 2004 Accord DX that she gave me because she's getting dementia.

got a bmw 316i compact for my first car

i am britbong so yes of course it is manual 5 speed :DDDDDD

>awesome I6s eveywhere
>great little diesel 4 bangers everywhere
I love your country user, nice car too.

...

>diesel 4 bangers
>great

They are really shit sadly. Look good on paper but crap to drive and sound terrible. They 6 pot diesels are good though.

Well at least you've got choices, apart from the golf TDI, you don't have shit on the small car diesel market and I'm not about to buy a big ass inline 6 cummins truck just to get that.

doesn't this has like 90 HP ? that must suck

>you don't have shit on the small car diesel market
In america*

>Automatic
>DX
I was about to say into the trash it goes, but dat mileage tho.

Thanks, yeah this one only went to the store and church for 12 years.

I'll sell you mine user

My clapped out Frankenstein of a Camaro.
taken from me by an old lady in a minivan trying to make a right hand turn in the middle lane of a highway
I miss the shit outta that car.

Shit user that sucks, hope you're driving something cool now.

I'm driving now.
Gonna try to buy another camaro with the money from selling that.

Manual?

3SGE Manual 5 speed 89 Celica. fucking gorgeous car, had 120xxxkms and the aircon still worked with a perfect interior.
sold it to buy a S13 Silvia, now i just miss going for drives through the city with the sunroof down with a working radio, no cop attention and dont have to worry about anything breaking.

99 Honda Accord V6, loved that thing
