Why does everyone care about FWD/RWD/AWD? Each has drawbacks and benefits.
Myself I prefer treads

I like the benefits of RWD over the benefits of FWD.
It's up to personal needs/choice, really. The flamewars in this board are pretty cancerous.
AWD is the objectively superior drivetrain layout for daily use.
RWD is fun for track use and hooning but is not a serious contender.
FWD just lol
AWD is perfectly fine for daily use. It allows for more cabin space too, which is gread for city cars and super minis. AWD is expensive to repair and mantain, it's unecessary for most people. RDW is the most fun for many people tho
FDW is perfectly*** shit typo
>each has their own benefit
Literally name one benefit of front-wheel drive that isn't centered around a normie not being able to counter oversteer/understeer. Just one.
t. FWD v8 owner of 3 years before switching to RWD
Yeah, RWD is the most fun for wannabe Dagumis who only want to know that their car """"can"""" drift and do cool things but who will never use it.
AWD gets used. Period. Snow, gravel, dirt, things people encounter all the time in the real world that would tear a RWD car asunder. Now, if you're going to buy a car with TRANSVERSE/HALDEX FWD-based AWD, you might as well buy FWD at that point because the """"AWD"""" is actually useless and doesn't send a meaningful amount of power to the back axle when it needs to go into AWD mode.
However, if you want a serious machine that can dominate everywhere, on the road, off the road, and on the track, you have to get a car that has proper, symmetric AWD.
>RWD not a serious contender
You really are the shitpost guy
Enjoy your heavy car and understeer and inorganic handling
Cabin space. Cost of manufacturing. Ski car racing.
FWD gets better mileage
Boom, roasted
>fwd is used almost exclusively in .9l Diesel fiats and other garbage mpgboxes
>actually caring about miles per gallon rather than fun per mile
Lunch tray drifting. That's literally it.
>Understeer
> All cars aren't pigfat with modern safety standards
Enjoy your shitbox annon but those of us who have a real drivetrain will go put down our faster lap times.
>If you like RWD you're just a drift wannabe
Wut?
>those of us
You aren't putying down ANY fucking laptimes, you goof. Why not get a fun car, or take your piece of shit AWD off road where it belongs? Have you ever driven anything RWD?
Tracks are objectively superior offroad. On-road, wheels are best.
Ground effect best effect, though.
there's literally no other reason to have rwd on a street car
There's no reason to have AWD on a street car. RWD is minimalistic and organic. FWD is a compromise that gives very very slightly better MPGs and easier to control for a normie. AWD has its place off the road and, in some rare cases, for setting lap times-but full time 50 50 AWD hurts this a lot. It's also pretty boring to drive on asphalt. Makes the car feel floaty due to all the wheels spinning and fucking with the weight transfer.
Nothing compares to the feeling of driving a RWD at the limits of its grip
AWD have the most power loss weight and overall transmission cost
FWD is the best for daily drive it's economic and every way
Only the sweet release of death when you figure out you are not on a children's Chinese Cartoon and can't control a powerslide to save your life.
