My check engine light stopped working.

I haven't actually had a check light on my corona yet.

>"Lightning struck your engine, please check."

I've had a sensor that was recalled about a decade ago due to low voltage, I have yet to replace it yet, so the light just stays on with no noticeable change in performance.

That image could have been my car.
The light is on constantly because of a faulty exhaust gas recirculation valve and I'm too lazy to have it fixed.

It's not like Volkswagen cared about emissions anyway.

I have a light that says check engine with no symbol, which I'm assuming is the same as that car.

It's already always on so the jokes on you.

I don't do anything unless the car starts to drive weird or sound/smell funky.

...

>single cylinder misfire
>only on cold morning startups
>won't come up any other time
Fuck off light.

saw it once, on a couple years old car

load pressure sensor went tits up

dem turbos

>Check engine lights up
>Doesn't check the engine

Are you me? Mk4 here and whenever I have it dealt with in service it usually reappears a few days after

>Yfw
>Check engine light not
>Leaking coolant
>Oil blowing out of the dipstick once only a little bit

if my check engine light is on for Cam Timing Advance Excessive is it really a problem or should i not worry about it?

check engine light only bothers you if you're a helpless pleb.

just wait till bulb burns out.

I haven't seen one since I sold my GM

Probably
A problem like that can be caused by many different types of failures.

The best case is its a bad sensor or it just needs a valve adjustment

worst case, and ive only seen this a few times, you need a new camshaft.

Be glad you have one. Only alert I get is for low oil pressure

Where

...

My lights go on and off or flash at will.
Sensors on the Mk4 apparently have a tendency to be crap

Triumph, so the ignition light is probably on most of the time anyway.

>check engine light for months now
>still cannot figure out what it was
The code is just "Too lean during idle", already replaced/cleaned my injectors and waiting for an opportunity to replace the fuel pressure sensor

>its orange
>i can keep driving for another month with it

Wait, yours isn't always on?

I get this every time it rains. Water in the engine. It shakes and struggles to accelerate for a little but when it gets dry it stops and the light goes away
Hopefully I can squeeze one more year out of the car

>E30
>Brake lights and washer fluid have sensors
>Has panel that shows when each thing is out
>Brake lights show as being out until I use them every time I start up
>Washer fluid light comes on when I accelerate hard
>FLASHES CHECK ON MY DASH THE WHOLE TIME I DRIVE AFTERWARDS
but
>Runs rich as fuck
>Horrible scraping noise in engine bay
>Lots of other small things in the engine
>No lights for that
Thanks BMW

Is your intake just a hole in your hood or something? Wtf

this 2bh. The Lambada doesn't like it when you drive with no exhaust.

>old shitbox
>OBDI
>rough idle everytime it's cold, runs perfectly soon after; like less than a minute after
>one day, leave work (really cold outside)
>engine starts but runs like shit
>CEL ON
>ohboyohboyohboy.jpg I have to get home as soon as possible to check the code
>barely make it home
>think for a few seconds whether I should stop the engine or not before going in the house to get the scanner
>fuck it, the code should be there anyway
>turn off the car
>go inside
>get scanner
>start engine
>runs perfect
>no CEL
>no codes
>no historical codes (because OBDI)
FML!
about 5 years later turns out it was the throttle position sensor
$100 part, 2 screws and one connector

>Check engine lights up
>check engine
>engine spec doesnt contain repeating numerals
>shit roll, faggot engine

>chek egnine lights up
>pull over
>turn car off
>turn car on
>chek egnine no more :))))
>subscrbie for more Linkin Park musicvids!!1^^

i drive a vw

...

>one day, it doesn't light up anymore

>flashing check engine light showed up again on my Miata
>pissed as fuck because it's the 4th time and I'm sick of fixing it
>dump fuel system cleaner in the gas tank and pray it fixes it
Later that day
>casual drive down my home road, going 20 over
>fucking civic and a Chevy truck pass me flying down the road
>I drop a gear and catch up
>CURVY PART OF THE ROAD MY NIGGAS
>back off before the curve, accelerate through the curve as they're having to slow down through it
>go to the outside right after the curve ends and I can see if a car is coming or not
>pass both
>flashing check engine light goes away
>civc somehow loses his front bumper trying to catch up around the corners
They were pretty cool dudes, surprised me to find out they were both over 40.

only time this happened, it was well below 32F and my car overboosted. Fixed with a wastegate upgrade.

Thats pretty high tech for an 80s shitbox.
