Forgot to update the edition. It was supposed to be
little honda edition
Also, don't forget to join the collage!
no the little d series that could edition
D series best single jingle.
Doing a double shift today. Tips are so damn good. One gave me 23 bucks.
I can't see shit at all from the video. Is the oil pressure light supposed to be flickering on and off?
Oil pressure light literally is just a ground. So if the wire is frayed and touches ground it'll light up
Not doing burnouts in your D series shitbox
Blog: Working on orange CRX that I got yesterday for 300 bux. Even though it was fine yesterday, today was no start. Probably because the PO did shit wiring and it's wet out today. In retaliation, (rather than fucking around with garbage) I tore the entire fucking dash out and went to town on the wiring. Took out a bunch that went to a security system. Gunna verify everything and improve his shitty swap. I have 95% of the missing interior staged in the basement so it'll be a complete car. Put other CRX in storage for winter.
tfw she give your D the SOHC
implying my tires dont do burnouts even when im not trying to
Chinese tires never again.
Great, now I'll never buy one of these overpriced fucks.
6k on craigs list near me but... i dont know how to bike. think ill buy a grom then the moto compo. form an army of tiny bikes then
get kamen rider biking suit
went and saw this veekyforums.com
oh god it was such a POS,
seller accidentally left the driver side window down so the seat was damp as fuck
difficult to get into 2nd gear
hatch doesnt open
rustier than it looks in the ad
I think I'm going to stick to getting a Jeep, CRV, or Outback.
If I were to get one I'd want the Honda City to carry it in too.
Yeah that's mint condition Grom money.
what do you lads think about these
big choon innit
Motocompo finna go up in price now. Go get yourself a Z50.
I DD a third gen Outback, it's good. Cheaply made that'll last forever. That is of course the 4EAT doesn't shit the bed.
CRV and especially a five speed would also be good.
Get a fucking XJ or a Comanche.
The 2008 Civic is probably the better one of the three.
If only the EJ20R would work in this fucker.
school me on preludes /hg/
im onnly looking at manual transmission outbacks so really my only concern are the headgaskets
can buy baseline grom for 3k new at places i go to. used its more than new because mods.
nice bike some boomer is selling a bunch of 70s xr bikes for less than 1k for once
see this ad while checking price
incidentally the bike listings shot up a lot since i last checked. now much lower prices too.
slow big heavy comfy as fuck though
They're shit, stay away from them.
Good. From the dealer note my Outback has, it's recommended every 150k from factory, which is what my Grandma did when she owned the one I have.
m8 if someone gets used to oils sleeves it not an issue.
Noticed something about my car today. It stopped backfiring when decelerating. Must have been the old head gasket causing it all this time. If so that gasket was bad for a long ass time.
You have no idea what you're talking about.
Yeah I did notice it do it more and more the more I drove it and now I can't make it happen anymore. Kinda miss it but I'm trashing this exhaust anyway.
You should cut it at the cat for the final month lol
Was you head warped at all?
Didn't look like it but my uncle took a wire wheel to the head surface to clean it up.
ill get to fully opening the head one of these days on my d17 again once my finals are done. i really need to clean it, though im not really sure what im doing. any ideas?
Well, if it's got that typical D17 shit, the head is probably stuck hard onto the block.
Easy though, don't need that many tools for it. Should all come apart easy if it was maintained, however you'll need new hardware to put it back together.
Good. Engine hasn't been that thrashed yet lol
Post stock ass cams
it wasent hard the first time we opened it but i wasent alone doing it that time. also what do you mean by hardware?
Rod bolts, head bolts (best replaced), bearings, etc.
Might as well hot tank it, deck it, hone and regasket the entire thing as well. Rebuilding a D series costs around 500-700 bucks.
The fuck is an ass cam?
it doesnt really need rebuilt just cleaned. we didnt clean it when we opened it the first time to check its condition, which was years back. figure i probably should clean it.
ones you stick in bum like keys m8.
Take it to a machine shop that knows what they're doing, have them remove the galley plugs and then have them hot tank it.
If an engine is taken apart, probably best to rebuild it. When bolts are torqued, their threads are stretched. The non chicken shit way is replacing anything that had torque on it.
verv you fuck go back to /pol/
Yeah I'm impressed at how it looked inside. That Mobil 1 Extended synthetic oil is no joke.
Timing belt and tensioner both looked great too but I swapped them anyway.
Only issue is we had to guess the head bolt torque. There were various amounts of torque levels for various D series engine but mine wasn't listed nor could I find it online. Ended up just doing D16Z6 torque because the parts I bought were for that anyway.
Mobil 1 isn't much of a meme oil, I've used in every Nissan I've owned. Been running Royal Purple in my Integra for a bit now since It has been and will continue to sit for awhile. Not entirely sure why full synthetic doesn't piss out the front main like conventional and synthetic blend. I was always told pure crude is what doesn't piss out every opening, however it's been opposite for everything I've owned.
You're in luck, a D16A is a D16Z6. A D16Y5/7/8 is also the same. So is the later ZC.
would that explain the tiniest leak at my valve cover?
a1 and a2 d17 heads are almost the exact same as well.
Then what would be better, an Integra? I kind of like the big slow comfy GT vibe of the prelude honestly
From the gasket or a bolt?
Bad oring on the bolt is a common D series thing.
I'm a bit crazy and have taking the 15k OCI literally. Though I got a fresh change in my back seat. I'll put it in when I do the exhaust.
S13 it is then.
Nigga I would be dragging my nuts through glass if I didn't change mine in the short ass interval I do it. Either 2k or three-five months. It's not necessary at all, however it does keep the engine clean as shit.
That and I have to top the fucker off every five hundred miles.
accord coupe. handles the same.
replaced some of the o rings a year or two back. also replaced the leaking side head cap o ring or what ever the fuck pic related was called
The stock cam end plug always leaks. Fix that by buying a billet plug off of Ebay.
at that point he really would be better off with the lewd.
I loved the JACCS Accord track car. (I think thats what is called) dude had massive calipers and rotors. Lol
Nissans are everywhere in Florida.
that isn't a honda car
Not a Honda
I drive so much I'd go broke trying to keep up with changes so I remedy that by using real good oil. I barely burn any if i still do. The remainder of my five quart bottle covers any oil loss. I still have plenty left in that bottle. Kek
same handling and size for 3erd and 4th gen lewds to 6th and 8th accord coupes. also im not talking about the v6 accord coupes. also already changed it so its not really and issue for that. not sure why its leaking still though at the bolts.
live in nc.
no 200sx or 240sx anywhere
only ones we get we rebuild from florida and cali that were auto or had blown head
replace with d series honda engine or an engine from a cavalier or a cobalt.
ive seen some shit man. also s13s we get are more thrashed than meximaros/teggies
I dont understand
well from my experience with nissan guys from the east coast its more popular to to jam a chebby or hondur engine in you 240 than use the stock engine or even tune the stock engine.
Oil doesn't necessarily go bad either, it just gets contaminated. If you drive 7500 miles in two months and it's still clean then it's not bad.
Heat and prolonged use does thin oil, however.
Third gen =/= Fourth gen Prelude
Prelude =/= Accord
Chassis is different, third gen Accord and Prelude suspension is similar in the front. Third is the smallest of those four.
Anything past 2001 was made completely different than the decade prior. Not entirely similar.
replace with d series honda engine or an engine from a cavalier or a cobalt.
stock s13s are rare in nc.
also very slow. slower than a lewd and less reliable.
you will never ride around your neighborhood with a motocompo
All have too many miles for their year
Never fucking change post 2014 /hg/
The KA24E/DE can take an ass pounding. Cam angle sensors is the only thing I'd consider to be a major flaw with Nissan, however it's no different than a diz going bad.
All about maintenance history. New England hates cars, so I wouldn't be surprised if it had to be maintained to stay on the road.
also there were very little 240sx sold in the entire state when they were new so there isnt many here still. the people that buy busted ones rebuild them with completely different shit for absurd prices that would make a restorer puke. engine for 240s and 200 sx are non existant in the state as well. college campus is weird. i still dont get the cavalier swap though nigga paid to have all of it done too. old nissans were brought in this state, not many were bought new here before 2002.
Yeah I keep a close eye on it. I'm mainly just testing the 15k mile guarantee. It looked pretty good under the valve cover.
I see an unmolested Onevia in my town. The rest are members of the New Orleans drift club called NODrft. That's fun to watch though.
There was a damn Cobalt sedan at the drag strip at IFO. Was pretty good and had the loudest backfire out of all the cars. Was like a damn gun firing.
Get a manual accord coupe instead
Damn good thing you didn't JUST your engine
Don't have a pic of mine because I haven't had the need to open it up. Hg replaced, running belt replaced by po and no timing issues.
Yeah it's crazy. It's running better than ever now aside from my lack of vtak that I haven't figured out yet. Not a big deal though.
ive only seen 2 240s and one 200sx.
one of the 240s had anime stickers all over it and keeps getting stolen guy cant afford the issuance on it anymore its more than the crx which is like insuring a c5 corvette with the same miles. it kind of sad really. hell ive seen more super cars than 90s nissans irl. hell just today i got stuck behind a mother fucking testerossa going 25 in a 45 getting to class. dont even get me started with the p1 line at some hockey games. also what the fuck is a onevia?
cobalts are actually pretty good for chebbys there is a reason they are on the used car buying guide.
hope your vtec solenoid aint shitted itself.
180sx front end on a S13. Giving it pop up lights.
I gave the solenoid direct power to my battery and it does still work. Might be an ECU thing.
Would be cool to have a vtak button for on demand wahhhhh.
thats basically the thing with cvt hondas now.
Would be cool to wire it to my horn button which doesn't work anyway. I rather it work normally though.
first day I got to drive
officially fastest driver in my store
thought I was a badass til I did a ride along
guy drives manual, fuck yeah I think
dumps the clutch at every possible interval
can hear him riding clutch at low speed in first gear just barely keeping the car from stalling in neighborhoods
downshifts surprisingly well
loves to slam on the gas and slam on the brakes in quick succession
Holy shit I thought I was bad when I started, and this fucker's a grown man and has owned his car for years
Some people are just crazy. I've had some crazy co-workers. A lot of them don't last long.
i'm looking at the new civics, how much of this video
apply to the turbo in the 2016+ civics?
Makes me wonder how he would've reacted if you pointed it out
The last one doesn't apply necessarily. It depends on the driver.
I mean he's a legit good fucking worker in every other regard. Like he has the "I'll bend over and kiss your ass for a tip" mentality but manages to come off as genuinely friendly and funny instead of forced. He just drives like a literal hooligan.
Yeah man my buddy who got me the job was talking about how they sometimes switch cars and after that I was like "noooooope" mentally
I'm the only manual driver in the whole crew. Kinda sucks. Whenever I'm working I just take it easy and cruise. I still pull off more deliveries than the rest of them.
well, im a bad driver. so i'll stay away from the turbo, i'm looking to have a long lasting engine
just copped an 89 hatch and i want to install a new cluster, and headunit. how?
Do you want an OEM cluster or swap in something from another car?
Here's a picture of a custom job I did. So if you have some questions about that I can probably help.
Headunit is pretty much just like legos. If you can do simple electronics stuff you're good to go. My girlfriend who is not in the least bit skilled as far as that stuff goes was able to replace her speakers and head unit by herself.
I want to buy a Fit just to tune it to handle in all it's kei car glory.
is that the s2k gauge?
how do you put a digital gauge from another car into an older one? i don't understand how it "translates" speed.
So VSS works using something called a "hall effect sensor". Basically, there's a little gear that is spun by the transmission, and attached to that gear is a magnet. There's a sensor that is sensitive to magnets, and anytime it sees the magnet, it makes a pulse. (The wire is normally 5v and gets temporarily grounded when the magnet is near)
More pulses = faster speed.
The S2k cluster has a certain rate per MPH ratio. And so does the B series tranny in that car. So I made a little converter using an arduino and it just increases the pulses proportionally so that the cluster tells the correct value.
Now, in older cable driven speedometers it's a little different. There's a gear in there and a little reed switch. That reed switch opens and closes and creates pulses (similar to the hall effect sensors above).
All you'd need to do is take that pulse and route it to your ECU/cluster (if cluster is digital)
Does that make sense? I can explain specific parts if it doesn't.
What did he mean by driving hard? As in racing it down the street then turning the engine off immediately?
talk to guy with em1 si
He tells me engine isnt stock and he bought it at drag strip
Its an f20
Idk what ive just seen.
Sort of get
driving meme car
finally sanded my fucked up headlights
Pretty easy if just swapping with the same one. Just gotta pop your dash bezel off and unscrew the cluster from the dash and plug in the new one. If you want to keep the miles accurate then you can move the mileage counter to the new one too.
Just get a manual 2015 civic. If you don't want a manual, I recommend a corolla
Going wide open throttle.
You're supposed to let it idle a couple minutes or be more gentle when you're about 5 min from parking your car.
Kek he sounds like a cool guy
Ordered my shifter bits at the dealer. Hopefully they show up tomorrow so I can get my exhaust and shifter fixed all at once. After that it's tires because I'm in danger of something busting. I'll probably just install my extra tire i got in the closet while I get the money for a set.
What do you think of Honda Jazz/Fit
Would you recommend the new ones? or should I look into getting one of the older ones.
Is it possible to make them a bit more of a fun daily driver?
also are the new automatics supposed to be good cos it looks like only the cheapest base model comes in manual
They look super practical. Though with the Civic finally in hatch form again I think I'd sooner get that in manual.
Fits are always good. Older ones always have more aftermarket upgrade parts.
Well got the CL home and put a new battery in it and it started right up.
That's badass man. Might get lucky with a fender and headlight at the junkyard. Then you just have the piss smell to deal with.
Yeah it needs cleaned like a motherfucker. Would a TL front-end fit it?
Probably less cleaning than my civic interior.
Idk how my brother drove it for 3 years with the interior almost completely black from cigarette buds and smoke from the first owner.
Fuck that shit. It took 3 days of soaking and steaming that shit to get mostly out.
Sort of checked
Looking good pham
What tires are you gonna get?
That's fucking gross.
Should I anons?
Probably the same ones I have now, Dunlop Direzza DZ102. They're only ten bucks more than the cheapest tire on Tire Rack. Cheapest one is all season.
Why would you not?
The CVT is good, but I would recommend the manual base model. It will be the most fun, and I find that the base models age better.
Yes. You can do some suspension work. Always recommend the manual over auto
It looks so happy
I'm too dumb and poor for all that.
How could I make a 2nd gen Prelude suitable for DD on the east coast?
Where at? Uncoat it, wash it, gold top B20A swap it.
Massachusetts, asking for future reference
Bring it the fuck up to me in VT after you weather proof it.
So goddamn bored up here.
Future reference as in I don't own one yet, it's what I plan to own.
Understood. What part of Mass you from?
Add my bike
Middlesex County, not a good driving area at all. Cape Cod has a lot of 3G Preludes for some reason, but I haven't seen a 2g statewide since 2009 or so. If you ever want to buy an an old car, go to Cape Cod since they tend to have very low mileage. I can't believe how many pre-1990 cars are still being daily driven there.
I went down to Wareham a couple weeks ago, Middlesex county is a bowl of shit to drive through. So was Boston.
There's a surprising amount at the Cape. Couple of guys had backyards with a few older shitboxes and boats.
Oh... shit I really am a drunk dumbass.
Uhh as soon as I get it looking not horrible.
Massachusetts in general is a bad state to drive in, the people dont know how to drive, the roads are either in disrepair or congested, and the police constantly patrol in unmarked cars and set up speedtraps by the dozen on the interstate.
Cape Cod is nice, but the cost of living is too expensive for a place that shrinks fifteen feet every year. I would buy a project car from there if the pricing wasn't as inflated as their real estate.
Is a CRX as fun of a car as people say it is?
How "practical" is it as well.
There is an 85 CRX DX for sale in town and I was going to look at it tomorrow if its worth my time.
ohhhhohohoho...nice bike user.
You're in HG we're all going to tell you the CRX is the best hatch ever made. If its pic related go look at it. You'll get a good ideal of how "practical" it'd be.
I figured I might as well ask anyways.
Also, I was wondering if these cars were simple and easy enough to learn to work on myself. I'm pretty car retarded so simple is better for me
Hey, as long as I have fun before I end up in a twisted ball of metal, it will be worth it
Need proof and year see
It's all relative
D swap for da sohc.
Anyone can take a screenshot of an instagram pic
Here are the photos in lightroom lol
No he means time stamp in pic with bike. Not digitally but physically.
That could be anyone's bike you photographed
C'mon user it's a bike, it's not even expensive enough to need to be faked.
That's how the first collage was ruined newfriend.
no physical proof needed
spammed with Craigslist ad photos
File name isn't called hg fam2 with emphasis on the 2 for nothing.
Introducing the 2006 Toyota Camry as the newest addition to the shitbox fleet. Roommate received it as a gift from his brother in law that got a huge as insurance check from his mom passing away. 170k miles and they gave him cash for new tires. Just needs brake work and better audio and it'll be perfect. Just got back from washing it.
Corolla waiting on a new headlight set and I got the grille in the back seat. Will be giving it attention soon.
Damn Shingu things has been looking up
K, well I can grab screens later and timestamp. It is a little late.
Here is another photo of muh truck and CBR in the back after a track day.
The Camry looks so big. I guess that's what happens when you go to wide body and don't immediately hide the size with the right body lines.
Yep trying to get this year strong. If it goes good I can use my income tax on shit that isn't necessary to keep shit running. Single white male with no kids so it'll probably only be around 500 bucks anyway.
Yeah it's huge. Took a few minutes to get used to. Reversing was a bit of a pain because post 2005 windows. I did smash it to redline though when I was on my way back from the wash. Kek
Yeah I don't know man this Acura is the first Honda I've ever owned I really know know. All I can say is check it out.
Hi guys I was thinking about getting a new i30, I've heard good things but my buddy says a 2013 Elantra that he's found would suit me better, any advice is welcome. :)
Model Year 07+ they got the hang of "not bloated" again.
The sonatas, accords and camrys were all big as fuck, but the camry was the best looking and it had that sweet as 268hp bullshit going on.
That gen looks much better I think. Overall the car is pretty comfy. The speaker grills in the back disintegrated though. Must have been a big flaw in that model. They broke apart from just touching them. The 2.4 I4 has some kick to it though.
should i get the new hatchback civic?
I would. Saw one in the dealer show room with red accents kind of like how Nissan does with Nismo models. Looks pretty nice.
im sayin. i saw one the other day and got a half chub
All that bloat
That damn car is bigger than a fucking 7th gen Accord, Honda pls stop.
I do for every 10th gen. Im a coupe addict though planning to get new coupe in 2-4 years because it has curves and a defined front unlike 8-9th gen.
Not really try 7th gen accord coupe six. Its pretty short for the width.
New speakers a must. Good to hear about the 2.4.
I like it, but they still kept the speedo a fucking three digit LED, right? WHY???
If the dealer gets my parts in tomorrow I'll get a pic of it in the show room. The rear in the sedan does look good with that lip. The coupe needs it, otherwise it just looks odd.
that looks nice as well. if only there was a nice medium between the hatch and this
just ordered my k20a2 oil pump. 9000 rpm, here i come
I have a used Acura and for some reason my windshield doesn't wipe off water cleanly. Even with clean wipers or a towel a water mist gets left behind. What's going on?
Shit that's crazy. Taking my D to 7000 is pretty intense on its own but the exhaust plays a big part in that.
Yeah the coupe is the only one with the rear that is odd looking to me. It needs a similar lip. Or just make it a hatch and it would be the closest thing to a new Integra.
Disregarding the obviously dated body and interior design, in all practicality, it works. USDM models save gas, very reliable, rugged, small, albeit not very fast. That's where you should go and swap it for a K20 motorset. Lots of suspension upgrades available.
(You) used to call me on my cellphone
If you do, get it in manual
Better post a vid hitting 9k on the taco
when it's all done, i swer on me mum to get 9k rpms worth of 3rd gear through the lowry hill tunnel on video
One of these days I need to ride with the coupe bro on a high speed run down the Pontchartrain Twinspan. It's pretty much our Wangan. He can get over 140mph out of his SOHC.
K has a hard time fitting in first gen crx because of the height. The best motor you can put in there in terms of effort vs reward is going to be a b18c1 or b20vtec.
You can definitely get the K if you run dry sump and arent afraid of cutting and welding though.
so fucking goddamn ugly..ek last good lookin' civic
honorable mentions: EP3, FD2
drove out to the store on 25mg 3meopcp yesterday and somehow didnt crash
dissos are one of the few types of drugs where driving on them is a terrible idea for a really good reason. thankfully my rsx has great brakes for when your reaction time is nonexistent.
i was going exactly the speed limit the whole time too and was a bit shoddy at taking corners.
This was forty bucks but it'll fix my shifter.
went and looked at this 2008 civic veekyforums.com
not sure if anyone here saw my thread but
a few dings and scratches on the car but nothing bad
Im gonna pick it up on tuesday lads
unless something better pops up.
ive been looking way too long for a winter beater.
owner works at Yale University.
He got the car in January and put around 10k miles from it.
He's trying to get rid of it asap hence the good deal.
Looks pretty damn nice. Probably won't find anything better for the money. Would probably be around 5k in my area.
first time poster here.
I own 1997 civic ek3 1.5ils. 5 speed manual, 6.1 l/100 km. (jew vtec) currently 198000 km.
never had any problems.
cool, thisll be my first honda. do you know if they are easy to work on?
I drive a 94 that's pretty easy. There's a guy here with the same gen but an Si model. He uploads videos on YouTube under the name HondaKBuild. He might know a lot about that gen.
Kys before you take someone innocent with you
DUDE DRUGS LMAO
So did it work?
Got a rotobal today and they saw small chunks of my tread on one tire was ripped off. Then we found this
It should. Most likely installing it tomorrow along with my exhaust.
SO, I have a 1989 Honda Prelude 2.0 Si. Whilst driving the other day, My car started sputtering and the oil light came on. Now I know the rear main seal has had a slight leak for a while now, so I think that it finally went. I just need to know how to replace it and what parts to get if I am going to take the engine out anyway. Pls help?
B21A1 should be able to help you out when he sees your post.
Buy a shop manual for your car
Never need internet for stupid questions again
How's your oil level? Was it trying to stall? If you bought a Prelude and don't check the oil every two days, that's not good. Elaborate on what's going on.
All you need to replace the rear main is the seal itself. Though if you need to tear the fucker down that far, do more maintenance as needed. Luckily, like most Hondas the trans drops through the bottom.
Well, why buy a shop manual when I have the internet? I can get the same answers.
It wasn't stalling or trying to. But, I did notice that the RPM's dropped significantly even as I accelerated, that was my first clue that it was fucking itself over. It took 2 full quarts of oil to get the oil light off. Then it ate those two quarts in about 10 minutes. Luckily, I had gotten it off the highway. The oil pressure was fucked, and the pan is fine. I checked where the front main seal was, no major leakage or anything That tells me it is probably the rear main seal, or it is burning a shit ton of oil. Thing is, it wasn't smoking to shit, I mean, that I could tell, as I just put sea foam in the tank to clean the injectors and such. I checked the coolant, it is slightly low, but not dangerously so. So, I didn't totally overheat the engine and crack the block, probably. I was just wondering if I should just replace all the seals or do more if I was taking the engine apart anyway.
Well, I guess that would count as trying to stall.
But it didn't.
Why learn how to be self sufficient when I can depend on other people to do thinking for me
You should enlist in the army. 11X
I mean, I was just asking for advice, man. I just don't happen to have a shop manual, and the internet serves well, too.
Thanks, I couldn't find one.
Will a 2nd Gen 1.3l jazz/fit suffice or will it piss me off?
should I keep looking for a 1.5l?
I don't drive manual but I plan on using this car to learn then get a miata or something and maybe keep it in the family to learn manual (nieces/nephews) in the future.
google the fits manual shifter
I really like the coupe but yeah a small spoiler/lip helps give it more consistency.
Sounds to me it's probably worth taking apart and rebuild, that or swapping in a lower mile B20A.
B20As burn a lot of oil and at the rate you're loosing it, it could be both burning and slowly leaking. B20As don't have the same problems the B21s have, however they still burn a fuckton of oil when not maintained in the past.
Lots of design flaw that can be corrected with aftermarket shit though. They're worth building, however you could also H22 swap it.
why what am I looking for?
I'm the user going to check out the crx in
I finally got called back and we talked about the car, he said it used to be a rally car, so I'm a bit worried about it being beat around. The biggest worry though is he said he didn't have any of the maintenance records, and he claims the engine has been rebuilt recently.
I want your guys' input. If I do end u buying, should I just do all the fluid changes and belt changes just to have some history to start or should I just not even buy the car?
Wait until you test drive it before dismissing it really. I'd buy any CRX that ran and looked decent to be honest.
What can be done to my 2016 fit to make it the most fun daily driver ever for real world use
it's a manual.
should I just focus on handling stuff
That's what I'm thinking, it's not totally lost to me until I see it in person
Focus on suspension. If you don't mind some comfort being taken away for handling, you can put on adjustable coilovers to give the car a lower center of gravity and let it corner quicker. You can also put wider wheels with a stickier tire for more grip. Get a catback exhaust on it so the general exhaust note is nice every time you drive.
Okay, I'll look into it. Thank you.
Jesus christ I hate mice so fucking much. I've tore everything out and I still don't know if this thing will ever not smell like shit.
Is it at least getting a little more bearable? Mice are ridiculous. Roaches too.
go to clean up roommate's new Camry last night
open up the armrest
roaches fucking everywhere inside of it, many corpses but some still alive
vacuum the shit out of it
Thankfully they were only in the armrest.
Its getting there but I've never seen so much shit in my life. It was even in the fucking headliner.
Someone left a candy bar in the armrest and forgot about it?
I guess sitting for too long is the worst thing you can do to a car. Hope it becomes tolerable at least. I'd keep the windows open on non rainy days. That helps I think.
It was totally empty aside from the roaches. Also noticed it had a second 12V plug which is pretty convenient. It's just super weird that they would be only in the armrest and nowhere else. They usually are everywhere.
Also the previous owner (bro in law's mom that passed) was one of those hoarders so that probably had something to do with it.
desu I think I rather have mice than fucking roaches. Honestly this teenage girl wrecked this poor car.
Luckily the car wasn't too dirty. Basic vacuuming of small white dog hair and wiping the dash down with wipes we found in the trunk and it looked great. She had really bad vision though so it's got some scuffs here and there. He's not a car guy though so no fucks given.
Roaches are fucking awful. Especially those tiny ones. Roommate's sister had a plague of them until I talked to the EcoLab guy at work. He suggested some syringe of peanut butter looking stuff and it wiped them out. They killed electronics and shit. Dunno how they tolerated it.
probably worn out blades
What's a rotobol?
Never driven a 1.3 fit, I imagine it's unbearably slow. I don't know what user is taking about the manual shifters.
Post the ad
If you do buy it, inspect the fluids and belts first before replacing them
Short throw shifter makes it more fun if that's your thing.
Thank goodness only birds shit on my car and it's outside
Do it and post progress pics here
It's good but something feels off that I wouldn't want to buy it. I also don't think he knows what unmolested means
Buying an 07 Honda Fit Sport next week. Two owners and 74000 miles for 6500 out the door registered and delivered to me (dealer is 5 hours away).
That's auto isn't it?
Oh yeah bb.
That's not something to be proud of
A huge red flag is he claims it's a DX but there isn't a sunroof. So either it isn't a DX or it's been welded shut and painted over. But he also claims it's original paint.
Very suspicious shit
Also not worth the money he's asking. 2k or less
I know this feel. Except it was filled with spiders and completely black insides.
There was an empty wasp nest in a small space of the headliner and sunroof on mine.
Have family like that its pretty shit. When my grampa on my dads side dies its going to be hard to clean out that tiny house.
10$ its just a dx badge on it only.
DX doesn't have a badge.
The ad listed shows it as DX
I told you last thread that the smell will never go away
Using these floor jacks for every project now
good question, i'm in a market for a civic myself. i'm wondering whether to get a civic from 2002-2005 or 2006-2010 and at what mileage. i've been told to "just get one for 3k lmao" too, so it's hard to find out... good luck man. did you test drive this one?
it's another rainy on my days off episode
This is why I never get anything done. That and my intense laziness. I'll see how it looks tomorrow. Old exhaust becoming a pain.
At least it's not snowing
That'd be awful. I'm still rolling on summer tires and don't plan on changing that. I can't deal with temps below 60f.
I know it's so wrong, but my inner trailer park doesn't mind retro fitted HIDs
I WILL BUY SNOW TIRES WHEN I GET HOME
It hasn't stopped me from trying. I cleaned all the shit out and its no where near as bad as it was.
Finally got my mysterious surprise in the mail.
Don't spoil it, free parts user.
lemme guess, it's a fur suit
Calling it, bad dragon dildo shifter
Is it a dildo?
Hah, you'll see.
Some small pieces.
A body kit off of a fiero
Well, it's a body piece. So sort of.
It's a set of factory CRX Si louvers!
That's not a bad dragon dildo.
That's gonna look pretty slick on your CRX. Louvers are pretty sweet.
I was gonna say kys if it had a dildo in it
redpill me on honda fit lads
for $8k i can see there are few 2007-2009 honda fit sports with about 75-95k miles
are they as reliable as civics? will they last until $200k ?
Yes and yes. Get it in manual though
tfw the CRX you were eyeing on craiglist was swept out from underneath your feet
time to (never) find another shitbox I actually like for sale
Sold some shit to naan off of the orange rex. So it's now the $210 dollar project car.
Got rid of the bullshit fuse system and replaced it with OEM dogbone style fuse links
dat fluke 87 tho
Yanked the trim off. I think I'll try vinyl wrapping it. The color has grown on me but it looks like shit
Whyever that guy welded the sunroof is beyond me. Also, I am still very interested in that wing on that GSRex w/ S2K dash, and might want to buy it in the future.
Everything is for sale. Wing is $1000
Join the collage fag
Good luck finding a shit box in general user
Lol he finally showed up?
tell me where you live and ill find you one
Better lop a zero off that, bro.
That looks like a pain in the ass desu
What color are you planning to wrap it in?
Not at all. Pretty much all that needs to be done is power to ecu, wiring to main relay, and check engine light. And the resistor that replaces the ELD.
Looks like shit but it's literally legos. Plus car was almost free
and then the bottom plastic in vvividshop.com
I'm thinking. But if you have a better suggestion I'm definitely open to it. I'm just going to sell it anyway
woah, dohc. nicely done, user
have at it my dude
highest I'll go is 6000
join a page because it has initial d memes on it
it's actually a low key Veeky Forums shitposting festival
Laughed way to hard at that
green texting outside Veeky Forums
Tell that fag to kys
Can I go to Kinect's or Autozone and ask them to change out my battery?
What do I do with the old battery?
They usually give you some money back for turning in your old battery. Usually free installation too.
I bet jolli spaghetti is better than that shit
So the OEM down pipe I'm gonna use until I get a better header has a small problem. The bolt holes for the flange are too small for the bolts that came with my test pipe. I can either try to drill through it or get smaller bolts to fit. Drilling would probably be a bitch.
You and your exhaust issues lol
I know right I just can't win. Do I need those stupid springs or are they just not needed with a test pipe?
I have a drill so I'll probably attempt to make the holes bigger.
Nevermind answered my own question. I guess I'll just get some oil and drill the holes out. I want to install this bitch for sure tomorrow. Dying to hear it.
Do you have any preferences? There's a CRX for like 2200ish that looks pretty good. You could spend part of whats left over on a swap
as long as it's in the price range, is fun, and won't rape my wallet anything goes
Is a Fit better than a Mazda 3?
Are you okay with doing a project? Or is a swap a little too much for you?
And you're good with manual right?
manual is preferred, I'm not so sure about projects because I have no garage. A swap is probably too much for me at the moment, I have little experience with a wrench
Here you go:
'00 celica gt-s springfield.craigslist.org
02 stock wrx kansascity.craigslist.org
Did my best to weed out bullshit ones. These should all be manual with clear title. Most of them the prices are reasonable
That 200sex would be worth
Brio is a cute
Is it good?
Seriously fuck this gay earth. I guess all I can do today is drill the flange.
Yo im doing wiring and its 32 degrees out mane
believe in ur self
I was gonna go out there regardless of the cold but I'm not gonna fuck with rain. Don't want to risk getting sick because I wanted to put on my exhaust. Not to mention the wind loves to blow hard here.
Thinking rain makes you sick
It's also because I don't wanna get wet since I'd be laying on the ground installing things. I'll see if I can do it at a friend's place on a dry day.
That WRX is in amazing shape and it's a great color.
get that wrx before someone ruins it
So Rex update.
Put it on a lift and the guys said the frame is surprisingly intact, minus the rust.
Mechanics said they couldn't duplicate the noise and it was probably nothing, didn't even charge me for it.
Gonna let me hang out in the shop on a weekend to learn stuff about cars.
Louvers came with all of the hardware that we need.
Rust in certain places is pretty bad and makes awful noises when going up on the lift, which will eventually need to be cut out and welded.
Another paint bubble surfaced, they said if I drove it in the winter "there wouldn't be much car left."
Louvers had two broken welds where there's not a lot of metal and may resort to window weld.
Waiting on check to come from internship to pay for fixes
Lots of mixed feelings right now.
It's so hard to enjoy an old car. Nature is a bitch, man.
Especially how humans try to counter it: Roadsalt.
Someone needs to do a study on how effective it is on making places safer and how it causes billions in damage to roads and cars.
Where's the rust at? If it's near the torsion bars or panhard bar that aint something you're going to be cutting out and fixing
It's right behind the wheel wells/foot well area.
Yeah that's pretty close to the torsion bar mount. You'll know when it gets there because the torsion bar will tear itself off the car when you hit a bump. That's definitely not something easily fixable after the fact
They said it would be fine to put on a lift over and over, but it would still need attention. I got some of that rust killing paint stuff to slow it down at the very least and somewhat preserve it until I can afford to have it cut out and welded.
Keep in mind it's unibody so cutting and welding isn't ideal anyway. If you want to get serious about hanging onto a car, you should try to locate a good shell to start with
Yeah, they said it would be best to find one with those bits intact, knock out the rust on mine, then cut the good bits out and put them on. Something along those lines, but they were pretty positive about it,
How retarded would it be for me to buy a brand new Honda fit in manual if I can't drive manual?
how badly can I end up fucking shit up?
You gotta try really hard to fuck shit up. Just watch videos on how to drive it ahead of time. I bought my car without knowing how.
This one helped me the most.
No idea. But wouldn't mind owning one in the future. It'seems a great size for a city car
A new s2000 is going to happen, right guys?
Why would it matter if your fatass wont fit in it
I think the Mazda 2 is more in its close no?
Is that a fit sedan?
yup, just bought it as well!
tfw part of miata general as well as civic general.
tfw want a nice 4th gen Accord but they're all rusted to shit
when I become president in 2020 I'm going to ban salting roads forever
tfw no car enthusiast, ultra qt virgin gf to go for midnight 2gay runs with
Damn shame she rarely uploads.
Tried drilling through that flange and my little battery powered drill can't handle it. I'm sure with enough recharging it could do it over time but I don't know.
4th gen a shit
there was a third gen for sale, I can't remember how much the seller wanted for it, but he wanted to trade for a miata too
thinking back I should have bought it. pop up headlights are GOAT
