>near future

>20-30 years

How the fuck are we suppose to know 20 years into the future?

20 years ago people didn't know what email was and now we have insane technology.

20 years ago everyone knew what email was dumbass, maybe 30 years ago most people didn't.

Yeah I'm pretty disgusted and terrified with the cyber punk idea even from sci fi books, to actually live in it is making me noxious.

Why can't we go for a greenland utopia with advanced biological humans instead? robotic arms unsettle me deeply.

If the 2010s have been horrid in terms of taste, education and people you meet, then I really don't want to stick around to see what these rabid autistic monkeys are going to do next.
God I hope I didn't make the wrong decision by not killing myself on 21st december 2012.

was email that popular in in the mid 90's?

I thought the internet was more of a thing for nerds back then

Email was invented way before the internet. Its original forms were created back in 1960's. Internet was created in 1980's and became available to the public in 1990's.

You probably don't know much about computers or are too young and were born during the established computing era known as Web 2.0, feel free to look this up if you don't believe me.

You're right i am 20 years old, and I know that this stuff EXISTED but I mean like widely used anywhere close to the scale it is today

I remember playing around on the computer when I was like 8 years old and it was a totally different time, I can't imagine even 10 years prior to that how it would have been.

Automation is going to save humanity, provided humanity can survive the transition that is.

We Culture soon; playing games, having sex, and fucking with less advanced aliens for fun.

Oh my god go away please

yes, but not due to automation, mundane things like corruption and resource depletion

we need to adopt eugenics to make everyone have IQ's well above today's average IQ. Then the future will be a utopia. Most work will be done by robots.

Don't even have to make it some government policy. The moment gene therapy is able to ensure that your children (and even you) have extreme intelligence, athletics, and disease resistance, people will be throwing their money at it. Gattaca was a positive view of the future, where gene therapy and designed babies were so common and affordable that it was only religious fundamentalist cult members who still had unhealthy and inferior chilren.

>gene therapy

Gene therapy is not feasible. Using sperm to modify the dna of people is far more effective and safe. The sperm of the super intelligent and healthy should be collected and sent all over the world, so it can enhance the bodies and brains of people.

People talk about foreign aid to Africa. Africans are not intelligent enough to properly use the resources given to them. What Africans need is the sperm of the intelligent, so they can enhance their brains and become smart enough to solve their own problems.

If we do not start sending sperm to the low IQ 'heart of darkness,' or the 'global south,' The west will continue to be flooded with economic migrants looking for work, because their own countries are too dysfunctional (due to low IQ) to make a society worth living in.

No. There is no long periods in history of mankind things get worse. Technology is advancing currently faster than ever, it's insane how much and quickly the living standard is increasing at the moment across the globe.

2030 you will have first fusion reactors "online". That is just one example which will have huge impact on everything. Unlimited energy from water.

2100 it will be tough to die, technology will be so advanced. Cancers etc. all are beaten. Hell, cancer amongst many other common killers will be cured 100% withing 15 years it looks like

This is the good-case scenario, and I cautiously accept it.

It is very possible, but not certain, that most countries will accept a degree of basic income provisions, and energy/healthcare/food production could (via fusion, medical and agricultural breakthroughs as they are currently progressing) lead to a sort of post-scarcity state for those expenses.

continued This would offset the unemployment issues associated with automation

>2030 you will have first fusion reactors "online"
I doubt that, they are no closer to working fusion than they were 20 years ago. In fact all these moves towards alternative and renewable energy are compounding a huge problem on the horizon, peak energy and massive depopulation of the human race. On the bright side that will open up a lot of opportunity for the survivors of the energy depletion depopulation scenario. There is just nothing coming down the pipe that will replace fossil fuels and the infrastructure on the scale modern life depends. People deep down inside know this and why zombie Apocalypse is a huge meme today, it's the future.

>implying retards in poor shitholes will accept their women bring impregnated with foreign sperm

That is simply false. By 2030 it seem fusion power have replaced all other power plants, large fusion generators are already in building mode in france and japan. On top of fusion power you will have thorium nuclear power and even solar power is improving efficiency 1.5x every year.

People who are calling "apocalypse" are the type people who have been calling market crash since 2009, while the market have steadily rocketed and will continue so. In fact i would say majority of people think like this, against all reality and odds. It's funny.

Yes, Every now on then there is drawbacks but that's about it. Same with world wars. Not funny periods, but last 5-6 years, 30 years period it's insanely stupid bet to call worsening of life quality in general. Basically large scale nuclear war is the only threat we have according to scientists.

Why do you give a shit? If you actually have marketable skills beyond "general labor" your probably fine until you reach a natural death. All automation will do is lower the cost of goods even more making it easier to make a living.

It's a tough sell. That's why the west has to adopt this practice first, to make it mainstream.

The humans created with this method will be so intelligent and better than any humans alive today, that in order to compete at all, the rest of the world will follow suit. We've had arms races, and now we'll have a eugenics race.

>NYPost
Stop right there.
You're wrong about the market, and fusion is 50+ years away from becoming commercially viable. If you knew anything about economic theory and human development, you would understand why we are heading into a depression within 5 years; All your ''''markets rocketing upppp xxxDdddddddD'''' bs is just eating the propaganda before the market gets dumped on trump.

Feel free to find me, I live in one of Australia's wealthiest parts and my own age to net worth is enough to make me cringe at your pathetic attempts at coping for the fact you are the type of person to buy an 'investment property', 8 years into a purely artificial bull market. But go ahead, if coping with being a sheep suits you, then proceed as usual.

But the redpill is the fact that real money comes from real, productive investments.

Tell me your net worth broken down and I will prove, with examples, why your net worth will be decimated within 3 years, and why your 'investments' are just an artificial number that don't produce anything. And why, along with almost all other mainstream investors, you will be near broke at best, living in a socialist country, thinking you matter.
You don't know shit.

You forgot to tip your fedora

you were eight in 2004
the XP era and rise of the linux desktop
aside from wider application of radio, very very little has changed since then

>Technology is advancing currently faster than ever

common misconception
see for digital technologies

as for scientific advancement, I can give you that, there is and will be bigger progress in near future

And those technologies will come with new problems as well. Many states and countries around the world lack clean water so we'd be screwed without massive desalination plants that will fuck up our oceans even more.

I'm cautiously optimistic. We can improve our environment short term, but we can't remove man's selfishness and shortsightedness for a very long time.
