Can someone explain to me how to play assault in BF1 please ? I find the aiming and range of the weapons horrendous and can't do anything correctly.
I now find myself playing scout and sniping all the time because I have a much easier time but I don't like it

Shotguns don't get bonus damage from headshots anyway.

Guys I've only played a few matches, what are good weapons to unlock first?
Is there any objectively best tier weapons? Last battlefield I played was 3 where every rifle was more or less the same except that ak with insane fire rate and the G3 which fired slow (my weaponfu in that game btw, with the heavy barrel that made bullets go faster with less drop and acog scope)

Assault: automatico
Medic: Mondragon/SL Sweeper/Slipslapper/Model 8 .25
Support: Basically any gun since they all lose against every other class
Scout: SMLE and M.95 for close range stuff

I could've sworn that I've heard the extra ding sound effect when you get a headshot, maybe it's just a leftover though.

Assault has the Automatico for maximum 'fuck you' potential, though if you can grind to level 10 then the Hellriegel is pretty handy.

Medic has the Mondragon, plus a few other options, but I'm no Medic main so I couldn't tell you.

Support is a little 'eh' all around, I use the BAR and Madsen myself since one is basically an AR and the other has insane hipfire.

You can make anything work on Scout, even the Experimental, though the Russian in particular is a favorite.

Automatico for assault
Mandragon for medic
BAR/1909 for support
Gewehr 98 (M.95 if you are fighting up close more) for recon

These are all easy mode and support is generally shit btw.

It still makes the sound effect, and you still get the bonus points, but non-slug shotguns have a 1x damage multiplier for all body parts, head included.

These are all my personal favorite CQ weapons.
Assault: Automatico 1918
Medic: Autoloading 8 .35 Extended
Support: MG15 Low Weight
Scout: Any handgun, or an infantry rifle.
