not fast ENOUGH

fest

...

Alright then, let's talk about gameplay styles.

Specifically focusing on the Adventure games.

In Adventure 1, we have Speed (Sonic/Tails), Hunting (Knuckles), "Pursuit Escape" for lack of a better term (Amy), Fishing (Big) and Shooting (Gamma).

In Adventure 2, we have Speed (Sonic/Shadow), Hunting (Knuckles/Rouge) and Shooting (Tails/Eggman).

Which styles did you enjoy, which styles did you not enjoy and which would you like to see come back.

Personally, while I enjoyed the Speed styles, I hated playing the Shooting styles (though Gamma's was a bit more tolerable than Tails/Eggman's) and I just found the Hunting to be boring. Fishing was weird and finicky, while Amy's gameplay was also boring.

The last Game you played, Anime you watched, Movie you seen and, Comic you read now Crosses over with Sonic the Hedgehog.

How fucked are you?

>We'll never get a Big the Cat game that chronicles Big's shenanigans in Sonic Adventure 2.
Sega, come on, please!

>Pokemon Sun
I wanna see Sonic and YA BOI meet now

Isn't Big's Big Fishing Adventure 3 enough?

That's exactly what Big's Big Fishing Adventure is, though.

>Big's Big Fishing Adventure 3
Then where's Big's Big Fishing Adventure 1 and Big Big's Fishing Adventure 2?

I'm fine with multiple styles if they take up multiple games. Part of it is due to being financially fucked in the 00s, but Sega lost out hard by not making spin-off side games like Nintendo has.

>Last Guardian.
It stars Chris Thorndyke. He finds a Sonic. It gets delayed for many years. And when it finally comes out nobody talks about it. Not even /v/. Sega would still add it in Sonic Generations 24: Redux and Out of Time though.

How much longer till sonic boom makes an entire episode about chris chan? I know they did the obsessive fan episode, but one specifically about chris since he's so into boom and sonic in general.

>Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 & Sonic all stars
ITS DO OR DIE

>Postal Redux
Genocidal Shadow time.

Hopefully never, the less people talk about that mentally deranged fuck up, the better.

I'm fairly certain his encyclopedia dramatica article is one of the most popular. No way he's going to fade away, ever.

>Isn't Big's Big Fishing Adventure 3 enough?
No.

What spin off games would they even make - aside from the Big Fishing meme?

I guess I could see some form of Gamma shooting game.

They likely won't. His antics aren't really PG friendly, nor do I think it'd be a good idea to do one whole episode of a kids show attacking one specific person.

>You'll never be popular like Chris-Chan and get referenced in a Sonic show.
Just kill me in my sleep already.

Omega Shooting. Babylon racing.
Hack n Slash with Knuckles
More Fighting games

Keep Sonic by himself as a 3D speed platformer.
Tails can have puzzle platforming and item use like in Tails Adventure, except bigger.
Knuckles can have exploration collect-a-thon platforming, and he can take the Chaotix with him.
Shadow would obviously be combat platforming, with Rouge for stealth-based sections and Omega for fuck-everything-up sections.

...

But inane argument on /sthg/ is a lot of fun.

>Implying the reason Sonic is living as long as he is now isn't from autism.

>Revolution X

All I know is that it would involve Aerosmith somehow.

>Yakuza
No clue, but I expect the music to be 11/10

youtube.com/watch?v=_1uNUhIgC2g

I don't know if I should be happy or disappointed that there is literally no crossover fanart between the two, despite both being SEGA IPs

I'm fine with both games' playstyles, but I will say that the shooting gameplays kind of suck. The emerald stages were quite fun to explore around when you're not finding emeralds to beat the game.

>Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam
Replace Paper Mario with Sonic and other paper version of characters with Sonic characters then I got myself a pretty fun Mario & Sonic RPG game that I've wanted.

I loved Gamma's shooting but hated SA2's shooting. Gamma was quick and responsive. Tails and Eggman feel like controlling clunky tanks while hopping over precarious platforms with janky edge collision.

This.

Hunting and shooting were fun in SA yet utterly obnoxious in SA2.

.

Hunting levels were shit when it involved Rouge
Shooting levels were shit when it involved Tails

It's really weird that it turned out that way.
In SA1 a lot of levels had to be functional for Sonic, Gamma, and Knuckles, three characters with completely different playstyles. Despite this they still ended up pretty alright. None of the SA1 hunt stages were obnoxiously bad and Gamma is honestly as good as Tails.
Meanwhile in SA2 they have the wonderful idea of giving each playstyle its own levels that are designed specifically for that form of gameplay, yet somehow we just ended up with shit like Aquatic Mine and Mad Space.
This too, Tails and Rouge levels are very transparently rushed

Both were shit in general due to the shittier radar and clunkier mech controls. The worse level design for Tails and Rouge were just icing on the shit cake.

Made something for all you purists.

Knuckles was bad in SA2, too. Eggman had a few good stages, but he also had a few bad ones.

I felt Knuckles and Rouge controlled the best

Knuckles had more good stages compared to Rouge

Yeah, I've always feel that way whenever playing either Tails or Rouge's stages. The worst ones being Eternal Engine and Mad Space. Knuckles' worst stage is either Aquatic Mine or Death Chamber. What is Eggman's worst stage?

Eggman's worst stage is probably Weapon's Bed
Not BAD, but also not particularly special in any way

Cosmic Wall is undoubtedly the best shooting stage in either Adventure game, and if the mechs had the same physics throughout Adventure 2 that they did in Cosmic Wall they'd be a lot more bearable.

Knuckles had one. Wild Canyon was inoffensive, but too small and simple to really be good. And, sorry to tell you this, but Meteor Herd was shit.

both Space Stages were fucking gay, Im not denying it

I would say Sand Ocean

I forgot Sand Ocean
Yep, way worse

Was Mark force-feeding Sonic pies supposed to have something to do with one of those stuffing fetish fics?

I haven't seen the film it's based on properly but isn't it that woman who hacks the shit out that authors legs and burns him with hot soup and shit part of it? I know the birds flying away scene was part of it too.

Yep, it's called Misery

Let's see, what did I watch last ti-
>Dragon Ball Super

SON OF A BITCH!

Has the new arc in DBS started yet, or is it still filler?

>Drifters

How hyped would you be if the next project sonic trailer show cased more characters?

Sonic Drift?

NPCs? Bored. Playable characters that aren't Sonic in some form? Explosively excited.

Depends which and in what context

>Hellboy
Hellboy goes well with anything. Fact.
I'd watch/play it.

I've been thinking about checking out Hellboy, it is any good?
Also
>Is that Monkey Khan
>HE'S GOT A GUN

Like if you saw shadow rouge silver blaze etc

Am I the only one who wants to see the babylon rouges in a main title game? It'd probably never happen though

>game played
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

>anime watched
Dragon Ball Super

>move seen
Pacific Rim

>comic read
Sonic

context
playable? npcs again?
>playable any of those
I'd rather have someone closer to the central cast before we start thisu shittu agen
>npc any of those
A step up from Lost World at least

There was that one user at /v/ a while back that said jet was supposed to make a cameo appearance in the next game. Idk if its true or not

>Is Hellboy good
Does a bear shit in the woods?

It is my subjective opinion that Hellboy is objectively perfect. Pick it up for sure.

I recommend the hardback library editions, but if you're not made of money, the trades aren't bad either.

>Shantae and the Pirate's Curse
I feel we'd get lots of snarky humor and maybe a lot of Amy, Rouge, and Blaze fanservice.

>Sonic game by Wayforward

Would it have shitty physics?

Wayforward wouldn't be good at a fast game

Wayforward would be fine for a platforming featuring the Sonic girls. Amy, Cream and Rouge can all be relatively slow and even Blaze can be slowed down if it's not a boost game.

But Wayforward probably doesn't give a shit about Sonic so they'd probably half-ass it.

>Boom Boom and Bunnie blowing shit up
Nextwave movie when?

Okay, seriously, these Pirates are the best Non-Egg Boss reboot OCs. I don't know how the fuck THAT happened, but it did

Who has the rights to them right now? Disney? iirc one of them is a mutant so I'm not sure.

Anyway I think a short series would suit them better maybe.

Helps when even bit villains are given personality outside of "we're the bit villains."

Really liking how Vector's being handled this whole arc too.

Boom Boom isn't part of the X men iirc so I think she could go either way. The rest are Marvel, so if you wrote Boom Boom out for whatever reason you're good. But yeah, you're right, a short series could fit better.. Maybe a short TV series too
Yeah, you're right. Hell, the previews are doing a good job of showing that. I suppose it also helps that unlike the main book, these villains get 22 pages to do stuff in, while the main book has 10 to work with

...

>Philip Marlowe slowly transitioning to Errol Flynn
I'm entirely okay with this arc.

...

8-bit Sonic 1 is better than 16-bit Sonic 1

...

Universe is actually 20 pages.

But given the number of characters here it's using them well. The first page is basically a gag recap and we still had all the Chaotix getting some focus in just the preview.

Preview end

>But given the number of characters here it's using them well. The first page is basically a gag recap and we still had all the Chaotix getting some focus in just the preview.
Agreed. I'm surprised by how this arc is balancing everyone so well. And given that the OCs were introduced, the Chaotix still shine here like you said, and honestly I'd say that this is probably the best they've been in a long time

...

What does she mean, "Tonight, you"? It's like she's threatening me or somethin'

Reminder that these are literally the ONLY good sonic characters

They had to know this would be edited.

I entirely approve.

Was there any real reason why SEGA got rid of Runners entirely?

This is his role on the ship.

Runners wasn't bringing enough money.

But was it worth canning the whole thing entirely? Like, if I remember correctly, you can't even play Runners at all right now.

Where's the porn of shark spats?

Imagine, Charmy being useful.

Also, I love Opal.

I've already seen two pics of her.

>you can't even play Runners at all right now.
And people paid real money for stuff in that game.
