Do they need to eat or drink? I've checked around the net but have yet to find a clear answer. I mean, it seems like there is evidence supporting that they do but I dunno.

Also, is being killed generally seen as something to be avoided? Like, they're immortal so it would seem like its not a big deal, buuut I wonder if the reforming process is painful/humiliating/weakens them/robs them of their memories like reincarnation.

Dremora have a way of dying which is being sent into outer Oblivion, but they rebuild themselves and return which robs them of their memories and is painful, someone went over this in Battlespire but I don't remember who. I guess all the other Dremora laugh at you and call you a loser if you die normally, but there doesn't seem to be any actual negative effect.

He had illusion magic and drug resistance training during his time in the Dibellan monastery. It became mandatory since they had problems in the past with demented mages and serial killers using illusion magic and various drugs to kidnap and/or kill their workers.

Well I mean, losing your memories seems like a pretty big deal if you belong to the school of thought that considers memories and experiences to be what makes up a person.

Reminder to carry Black Soul gems and Azura's star so you can soul trap all Dremora you come across. If you kill them the normal way they just go home, atleast this way you fuck them over in death, too.

You pretty much have to rewrite it from scratch for all the changes that are required. But I didn't think it would take them several months and I'm a little disappointed.

Yes, it is. I'm CS, so I think I have a cursory idea of what goes into the script extender. They have to write a custom injector that hooks into key, reverse-engineered memory locations, and that is outrageously difficult.
The SSE binary is totally new, so they're basically starting from scratch, just like with F4SE. Fo4 came out over a year ago, and look at the state that F4SE is only in atm.
