>big car small engine

why the fuck would you ever get a 5 series smaller than a 525

>E34 5series
>big

A modern Civic is bigger.

>mfw it's real
>mfw it's a 2800lb car powered by a 90hp 4cyl
>mfw when I have no face

4u

My 1.8L E30 is slow as balls as it is. Sounds like you'll be camping out the right lane a bit.

You're like a babby.

Watch this

21 seconds to 60 never felt so fast

>518i

haha oh wow

*HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS*

[spitting on the camera intensifies]

518 are perfectly sufficient to flow in traffic.

200D on the other hand are actually dangerously slow.

Why not? It's a cheap luxury car with timeless looks.

And yet it's still over 3500lbs and the 1.8 is an anemic little bastard that barely keeps the 318i above the speed limit

Idk what you're talking about but I've gotten to 120mph in a 316i E36.

shit's gonna be slow

did you drop it out of a plane?

>luxury

You're discussing with bus riders.
The majority haven't even seen a 316i in person.

The 316 and 318 are slow compared to the 6cylinders but they're enough for DDing.

A 518 is really pushing the lower limits though.
Still manageable but you really have to be a calm soul for these.

>all that shitposting

80% of your 90's japan shitboxes are slower than this.
it is kinda slow, acceptable but far from horrific.

...

And this is a 200D with its mad 75 NA diesel hp from hell, sprinting to 60mph

The BMW is definitely doing better in that poorfag category

>english wiki

It is marketed as "luxury car" outside Germoney.

In the domestic market it was also mainly a "normal" family car, absurdly barebone like the E Class Mercedes, too. Such naked BMWs and Benzes usually never made it to Burgerland.

Ok, cool. I'm not German, so it's a luxury car to me. It can be a normal family car to you if you want.

thats like slower than a Civic

pretty awful

its not a luxury car no matter who you are

a fucking 1.2 twingo is faster than this.

...
......................only the 16v.

Why not? It feels pretty luxury to my poor ass.

what's up with that orange section in the speedometer?

thats not a 518

twingo 1 was 700kg, with the short gearbox JB1, even the 1.2 cléon engine with 60 hp would haul ass.

E34 518i on steelies is literally max comfy. Should be Veeky Forums's ideal car.

Tru.
Non-leather seats makes it borderline-economy sedan for me, but it still rides and looks like a luxury car of that era.
Ok, I'll agree that the 518i shouldn't be considered a luxury car, but the ride quality and feel definitely is that of a luxury car

>max comfy
max comfy because you don't have any other option than going slow and stay calm, otherwise you'd go insane trying.

I thought Veeky Forums liked incredible hihg speed lap times

not when you dd on shity roads

maximum kek

>km/h

This is literally interstate cruising speed in America.

the video is about 0 to 60 acceleration, not vmax, top honk

Can vouch for truth.

Only real downside is that the timing belt should be changed every 25k miles/40k kilometers due to a design error (goes for all M40 equiped cars)

~just E34 things~

what was the twongo's endgame

I used to own one of these.

As a normal car for driving around in they are perfectly fine, they cruise nicely and don't feel like they are struggling. Obviously they aren't fast, but they don't struggle to get up to speed or on hills or anything.

I would guess most people in this thread shitting on them are bus riders that haven't actually driven one or even been in one.

I used to have e34 524td, the 115hp one. It was perfect dd, decent economy, decent speed and acc, very comfy, could haul 4 ppl plus baggage easily.
I really don't understand why people don't like these cars.

reminds me of a 60hp Audi 80 I used to drive

they only see the numbers and get the shitposting going

Kek

thats the speedlimit in cities in europe

>4 gear manuel 75hp diesel in a mid-size sedan

how does that guy survive that each day

patience and anticipating road traffic
