Alright, so Titanfall 2 is on sale my niggas. I never played 1 but I heard some good shit about it. I heard this is better than anyhting else. Last FPS I played and got bored of was BO3, currently playing Overwatch.

My question is, should I get it? Also, Deluxe or standard?

As far as I can tell, it's purely client-side cosmetic. I.E. even though you're sharing a dropship with others, what they see might not be what you see.

One thing I don't like about this game is it makes me feel like I'm being punished for certain weapons. I mainly play with the CAR because I've had it since level one so I'm most comfortable with it, but I really enjoy the Mastiff, EPG and Flatline. The problem is I can pick up Devotion, Volt or Hemlock and instantly do better with no effort on my part.

So what are Grenadier class weapons for exactly? Are they more anti titan or just for AOE or what?

Ion basically counters a braindead legion, and seeing as the majority of the playerbase is stupid enough to keep shooting legion or not, it counters most legions. You'll have like 150 or more rounds just tready to fling en masse after their sheild falls.

Legion main here, I feel like playing Legion is an exercise in patience. Ion/Tone shields, Ronin/Northstar dashes and Scorch firewalls are all gonna make life difficult for you because you are slow and can only fire in short bursts before having to reload again.

everything else in his kit outclasses her, legion is a counter to ion, not the other way around. chaingun outdpses splitter rifle, laser shot is useless against his shield, and tripwire is useless against everything, there is literally nothing you can do against a legion as long as he doesn't shoot into your vortex like a retard

Implay legion on Kodai and Homestead, everything else is ronin

Playing legion smart is great. Ions think they're about to wreck a shitty player, but you shoot in bursts when their shield is down. They die slow, turning vortex shield on and off like a blinker.

Pretty much, Legion is knowing when to go all out and when to be patient. I main it as well, off and on with ion and scorch but I have the most time in it now probably (only one I've regenerated so far but I'm pretty new) I love the thing, it's underestimated by most. Not to mention fun as hell.

Allow him to fire 3 three trackers onto you so he can fire missiles, catch the missiles and throw them back. While he shoots trackers just shoot him with your primary fire. Works like a charm.

You'd be fucking suprised how many people just keep shooting the thing.

Mind you I'm on console, so there's gonna be more CoD bros with brain damage on the thing. I agree though there isn't much as an Ion you

Even with the shield boost kit legion gets decimated by laser core.
And higher health/dps doesn't make legion a counter. All its abilities are focused on one weapon: the chain gun. It's all legion has. Ion can take every bullet from that gun and turn it around.

Shit pressed enter early, anyways I agree with you there isn't much you can do against a smart legion as an Ion, hence why I said it was a counter to a completely brain dead legion.

I'm in the same boat. I usually come in first when I play LTS (except on Complex, I suck at that map for some reason).

The pattern is peep around the corner till they pop their shield, get back to reload and wait out their shield, repeat. Power shot if they get too close. Just gotta take your time and exploit EVERY opportunity to reload and never waste a single moment of unshielded shoot time.

laser shot is not the same thing as laser core. the whole point of cores is that they are so powerful they ignore favorability in 1v1s, they are a trump card for every titan. and unless you overextend and expose yourself like a retard, you can just walk away from laser core after taking only a little bit of damage.

no he can't, he has limited energy pool and long startup on vortex, in real matches people don't just spray into the vortex shield forever. also means he has no energy for laser shot or 5xsplitter so as long as legion shields the return or dashes out of it ion can't do anything.

We're talking about legion here user. You better hope you're near cover, and even then the Ion can follow you if it's close enough. If it catches you out in the open you're fucked.

This. Ions get so cocky when they come across my Legion, thinking I'm just gonna mag-dump into their Vortex Shield. The smart ones back the fuck up before their robo-pussi is prolapsed while the stupid ones just end up getting doomed by dual Close Range Powershots.

It's the Ions who don't even bother with Vortex Shield are the ones I actually worry about. They either kite me from long range with their better burst damage with Laser Shot or catch me off guard with Spliter Rifle powered shots.

It is impossible to not be "near cover" in these maps. Firing the laser core, Ion gets slowed down to 25% of her base movement speed, that's 2.7 MPH. Even a crouching Ogre moves at 5 MPH, you would have to be trying really hard to not get to cover once a laser core starts warming up.

There are long stretches of open space on most maps retard. You have to cross them at some point and when you're halfway across with a Legion an Ion can dash into view and laser core. No possibility of getting to cover.

The long, straight lanes on Dry Dock. The narrow canyons on Crash Site. There are situations where you have to move through corridors with no cover. I'm saying if an Ion catches you halfway through one of these spaces and uses laser core, your Legion won't get away in time

I think you're underestimating how slow Legion is. I have a dash on mine and it's still not enough to get me to cover sometimes.
I'm not saying Ion trumps Legion everytime, I'm saying there are specific situations where laser core just means you're fucked.
