When you increase the playerbase you increase the spectrum of skill not the average, this is a common misconception from people who think an achievement of reaching an average level in a ladder on a more populated server is harder than a less populated one. Specially if they are "new" names won't mean much.
What kind of gimmic or style hasn't been in SF before? Though we'll probably get "new" characters with old character styles. Like a fat black guy who plays like E.Honda. or a Black Version of C.Viper, or a Black Version. of Deejay.

Biggie Honda sounds neat. Viper and Dee Jay were mistakes so they should not get moveset clones.

They could create characters more attuned to the playstyle of SFV without having to mould another pre established character onto it. It allows for more creativity due to less restrictions on design decisions.
