What's with this trend of people removing their Spoilers off of their 90s Japanese cars.

It's something I have been seeing a lot of these days.

Is it some counter culture shit where riceboys used to love their over the top Spoilers and body kits that now they think they are 'above' it and removing them makes them look more 'mature'. You know because the typical ricer was made fun of over the past years.

They're just trying to get you upset and get noticed.

>What's with this trend of people removing their Spoilers off of their 90s Japanese cars

>trend

people have been doing this since the 90s

also that car is a 1998 R34 Skyline GT-T

Some of them didn't come with wings

It's because spoilers and wings are ugly as sin.

baka

Looks like a mongaloid without the wing/spoiler

looks like a silvia

I was planning on making a snide remark like "wow it's like they're built on the same platform or something" but then I remembered how to not be retarded

Half of them didn't even come with a wing you turd.

Anything that'll make you look different than the rest of the crowd. People used to throw as much crap onto the car, now ricers like deleting as much crap they can. Makes no sense.

Agree. That's why the STI looks better than the WRX. You can call the wing boy racer as fuck, but (1) it's actually functional past 80 mph and (2) it ties the overall aesthetic together.

The WRX just looks like a run-of-the-mill normie sedan without it.

>spoilers
>on a street car

On a car that actually has a good design, spoilers can often times ruin the car's smooth lines. Most cars look better without a spoiler and just about every car looks better without a wing.

I had mine broken by some lovely fellow who thought it funny to chest slam every rear spoiler in the carpark then run off into the night.

Was quoted $390 for a new spoiler and $250 to paint the thing. fuck it, just poked those little black plugs in the holes to stop water getting in.

Sorry that my personal choices make you angry. If you could forward me the aforementioned funds i will gladly put a spoiler back on.

Kind regards,
T. Poorfag

> pic semi related, wish mine was this color

I don't have a pic of it with me but the P.O. of my 240sx ripped the stock lip spoiler off and left it like that. I just patched a 3x6 inch hole in the hatch lid with body filler the other week.

Forgot to mention there's about six other normal holes that need to be patched

>these days
People have been doing this for ages

I pulled the wing off my R32, I think it makes it look way tougher from the back, especially with fat 275/40 tires.

But what about the S1 Optional Aero R34 poster child.

It looks 'naked' without a spoiler

>kind regards, regards, poorfag

its been going on since the 60s when people would get rid of that awful Superbird/Daytona shit to make them look like normal Chargers

it just looks cleaner

That makes no sense, Daytonas are more expensive than the normal charger. But I do agree that they are fugly compared to normal chargers.

Did the Daytona have an upgraded engine or no?

>That makes no sense, Daytonas are more expensive than the normal charger.

that makes no sense with what I said

I'm not american so i'm not sure. I think they were just a standard 440.

Yea i know

they had different 2 different engine options

440 or 426

That's what some of us want. My wrx will beat a stock sti. For dd it just gets ignored by the police

Yea right.
