Overflow is fine for a mechanic that's based in ramp cards, it's just that they keep printing garbage for it.
Take Queen serpent of an example of a decent overflow effect.

Whirlwind sword seems pretty iffy due to its damage being based on the atk of your follower. But it's board clear for sword I guess? It feels like a card to solidify your position when you're ahead, nothing more. Awful in topdeck wars too. Win more cards ain't needed.
