No power is getting to them, can't open them from driver or passenger side. I checked fuses and they look ok. The passenger side worked briefly after fiddling with them but has now stopped again
I will change the fuses just in case it is that. Otherwise, what is most likely cause of this? Must be a power issue not the mechanism as there is no sound or movement at all when I press the switches.
Its been fairly cold here recently in the UK but has warmed up a bit now. Could the weather be responsible?
David Watson
The most likely cause is being a VW
Levi Gray
take driver door apart, and check voltage at the wires and actual switch.
>electrical vw issues
Ryan Moore
op, i have a solution for your fuckswagen, set it on fire
Juan Bennett
[/sarcasm]Excuse me?! What?! The electronics failed on a car made by a european brand??
That never happens![/sarcasm]
Daniel Robinson
>bought a VW and didnt expect to have wiring issues
OP you are a fucking idiot.
Evan Wright
The Final Solution, if you will.
Benjamin Morris

Wyatt Howard
You don't need to insert the sarcasm marks. It's implied

>VW Buy test cable first.

Goddamn speaking of VW issues my 2006 Rabbit is collapsing. It started with a coolant leak and when the happend I said oh fuck hear we go the entire thing is going to fall apart all at once. Sure enough that's what's happening. Coolant leak, needs a new radiator, oil leak, headliner is falling down, the fucking rubber sealant shit on the windshield came popped off when I was diving, hood latch is fucked, driver window is now experiencing random electrical issues.
God fucking dammit. This is what I hate about European cars. If one thing goes wrong, EVERYTHING starts falling the fuck apart. In a Japanese or American car if something goes wrong it's an easy fix and that's the last of it for a good while.
I love my Rabbit but goddamn for the shape I've kept it in this pisses me the fuck off.
Ryder Brown
Nu un Any error codes?
Levi Evans
Check the wiring in the door jam. Opening and closing the door puts stress on the wires here over time.
Levi Roberts
window regulator fuse nigger.
Hunter Clark
Fuses wouldn't be intermittent you double nigger
Zachary Watson
Most probably, water has gotten in and is shorting out the switch. Tear the door apart and check continuity with a multimeter.
Hudson Moore
Relay niggah. check the relay for power mirrors. usually some relays power others. i/e the radio relay powers the cigarette thingy/heated seats and such.
also, check these dubz
Jackson Sanders
Its from a Renault.
Joseph Miller
Try disconnecting the battery for a few seconds then holding the drivers side window switch in the up position for 5 seconds
Luis Nelson
So close..
Carter Murphy
>I will change the fuses just in case it is that. You can easily test a fuse with a multimeter that has a continuity check. Does anybody know how to fix things any more?
