If a host is shitty the overdrives dashboard meter will go from empty to full the instant you use it sometimes. Its like going past those fans and you explode and on yours and everyone elses the blades weren't there but on the hosts they were. The game just doesn't compute or some shit so it just arbitrarily decides if you're dead or not.
