Tfw no city turbo II with the accompanying Motocompo
I unironically like very small cars.
It's a shame the only ones we can get here are shitty electric shoes that can't go over 60km/h and have a range of 60km.
And new "small" cars are fucking bloated.
Seriously, compare the size of an original Mini or Fiat 500 to their contemporary counterparts.
iktf
Op here, here in New Zealand these cars are really easy to come by. Turbo II, alto works, subaru ace etc are all in mint condition and sell for like $1500 (like $1700Us).
This is the second one I've owned
You lucky cunt, there's like none for sale in ausland
We can't have very small cars like that in Yuroland, sadly.
Depending on the country you might get some similar things (here in France, electric stuff you can drive without licence might sound like a good idea in theory but in practice, I'll just let you image search "Aixam" and let you see for yourself) but overall, safety regulations killed small cars like that
>the new Peels are still legal if electric though
I love the little fuckers.
Shame they aren't sold in the us.
I need to stop drinking in the morning
Weird, we have basically no presence of electric cars in new Zealand, and people don't laugh at small cars, they love them.
I get 2.5 liters of gasoline to 100 kilometers, repair cost is next to nothing, and I can comfortably carry 4 people at 100kmph, or my whole computer right plus several guitars and other luggage. Best cars in my opinion unless you're towing
It's alright user, it's night time somewhere in the world
Electrics here have been selling more and more (though mostly to richer folks, new EVs are not very cheap) because for a while they were exhempt from some taxes.
Plus we have loads of plans from official groups (postal services, municipal agencies, etc) to use EVs. Fleets of these little shits are replacing the former Kangoos and seeing how vile the Kangoo is, I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing.
bunnymobile bump
Closest thing to a kei car I could find that works in Colorado weather.
They're cool for little Japan but I'd be scared to drive them in Burgerland when literally every second car is a fuck huge Pickup truck or SUV.
>tiny offroader
muh dick
>tfw chances of owning an AZ-1 in burgerland are rapidly diminishing
hello japanese brother, greetings from europe with a 4 door sibling
Because even though some of them look fun, they are limited to 64 hp, which is incredibly little. The smart Roadster is around the same size and slightly lighter than an S660, but with 20 hp more. And it still feels very slow.
That's not a kei car.

Mid-engined 4WD supercar that can be taken off road?
I drive a Spark that's about the closest thing to a kei car we can get right now.
I would murder someone for an Autozam or Cappuccino. Just point me at them.
>yfw you will never own, or even fit in a suzuki jimny
>tfw no S660 Type R
I would a kei car for the winter, but sadly the only ones we've ever gotten were these top heavy Suzuki Carrys and Jimnys, and I would like one that can at least do 130 kph at acceptable revs on the Autobahn.
Not very realistic, as far as I know the East German police always had Wartburgs so they could keep up with Wartburgs on the road.
>Will never fit in one
Sometimes i hate being 6'9
Okay, 6'9 is a lot, but somewhat good news! I'm a bulky 6'4 with huge legs (not long; huge and inflexible. Thanks, bike) that likes to sit bolt upright, and I have spare headroom and plenty of space, relatively, for my knees in a Jimny. So go for it, very large man! You might be able to make it work.
Here, take this Russian Jimny for good luck.
but are kei cars really that small inside ? i mean, they are usually old, and small old cars usually tend to be really spacious despite their looks, due to thin body panels and not much stuff inside
Thank you jimny user, for giving me hope and a new ambition in life
Cappuccino vs AZ-1
Which do you prefer and why?
If I had the pick between the two, AZ-1, because it's weirder looking and gullwing doors are cool. With either one, I'd be swapping the kei motor for an electric drivetrain for more power anyway.
Honda beat for muh revs
capuccino, its like a small nb :3 :3
I luv kei cars

>inferior non-zebra interior

I really like them too
I couldn't bring myself to DD one though because in the unlikely event of a car crash, I'm always going to be the one that loses

>Mid-engined 4WD supercar that can be taken off road?
That's the only thing they made that isn't a povertymobile for people who failed to get their licence or lost it after drunk driving.
Border control used Trabants at one points, special models with no roof, but outside of that yeah, Wartburg with slightly better engines than the commercial version.
Pic was a modern paintjob.
I'm contemplating on getting an eu-spec kei car like this as a winter runaround
>size/proportions and power-to-weight ratio of an original mini
>just 720kg!!
>1000cc 3cyl with 55hp, 5 speed manny. should be enough
>mechanically they're quite solid, most cars for sale seem to have pretty low mileages anyway
>probably the lowest running costs you can achieve with an actual car
apparently they like to rust though... And I'm not too keen on the fugly newer models
>130 on the autobahn at acceptable revs
>kei car
>yeah that's not happening unfortunately
Said border patrol trabi.
They used them as substitute Jeeps, and they weren't very good at it.
az1 because muh gullwing doors
they had plenty of those on marty car mods, seems like cool cars tbhqfam
HNNNNGGG
i swear one day i will import one to poland, paint it green just like mine and fool all the chads in their e36 sedans into thinking im driving shit slow daewoo and smoke em on traffic lights
It really depends on the model.
Japanese kei-cars, intended for domestic market might be a little cramped and lack headroom if you are more than 5'9 but many of them, as well as yuro city cars actually have decent legroom.
Best example for this is the Twingo, all memes aside it is surprisingly spacious for something that small
I'd love a rwd kei car sports coupe.
But I live in north yurop.
youtube.com
Hickok45 is 6'8, m8. No excuses.
Smarts are super-roomy. Good headroom, and you can slide the seats so far back that you're in a different post code than the steering wheel. As a tall person, you're better off in a Smart than in an E-class.
Not hating on Jimnys (for I am, apparently, Jimny-user), just expanding on the rather surprising merits of the Smart.
dude smarts are tall as fuck
You can if you import yourself one.
In the UK at least.
Mine has a low profile 18lb turbo, and is extremely fast. That might just be because I'm only 60kgs myself, but these aren't slow cars
Cappuccino :3
Like I said before, loads of carry space in mine. I have more carry space than a 2001 Corolla or a 2007 Lancer.
Does this count as a kei car coupe?
tiny bump
bumping with the only picture i have on this laptop
Would buy a Honda Beat, but it would be terrible where I live, and I might not fit in it. Always liked them though, especially for the fact I could go to the local mountain roads and full on race it at normal highway speeds.
Here in Paraguay some used car lots have kei cars on sale (Suzuki Alto, Subaru Vivio and many others) And quite cheap, around 3500$
I was looking for around 4 months for a Honda city for sale in Auckland. Couldnt find anything under $2500 with 200000km on the clock
There's like three on trademe right now :)
