Borers used to be an antag mode in 2014, their goal was to subvert the station by taking over key elements of the station

It was removed because once a Borer mind controls you, you're pretty much removed from the round.

They could make you drop dead iirc

Hosts never did anything interesting with it and usually just treated it like a free antag ticket.

They were antagonists. They had their own gametype. It was a holdover from Bay where the borer would convince its host to do bad things. You can guess how that turned out.
