its biggest impact on modern civilization was existing as a threat in the mediterranean which didnt allow catholics to fully focus on destroying the protestant heresy.

it didnt really have a big impact. the discovery of America and the Portuguese/Dutch colonies in the east made the Ottoman Empire irrelevant, it moved the center of the world from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic.

They literally did at least as bad, and Russia and Austria were fighting frontline forces of great powers instead of colonial riffraff and Arabs.
