It's a sports car with an automatic transmission

>It's a sports car with an automatic transmission

I understand most (if not all) of the twin-clutch transmissions are faster in almost all regards compared to a traditional manual, but why not at least have the manual option?

like what the fuck

Especially on cars in excess of 60k that are weekend drivers, they should have a manual option.

...Because only poorfag Veeky Forumstists want to drive stick?

>recent BMWs
Hardly any manuals except on bottom-of-the-bucket models. No manual M cars in Europe.

What? My buddy bought a 15' M3, 6 speed in Ontario.

I suppose since al of the cars there are manual they want to differentiate from the masses? Stupid justification, but logical for idiot designers/planners.

Most cars in excess of 60k are aiming for the best track times.

FUCK YOUR MANUAL Veeky ForumsTIST IT'S THE AGE OF FASTER LAP TIMES AND BENCHRACING THIS IS OUR FUTURE

so every decent modern sports car?

yup its like the 60s with muscleshit

only thing that matters are numbers

>caring about lap times that you will never achieve, on tracks you will never drive on

Yeah I just checked and the manual M3 is still made for Europe. The M5 hasn't been available in manual here since 2003. Only North America got the E60 and F10 6 speeds.

its GM/Ford/Nissan/etc competing on the benchmark track tests

I feel that it feed the benchracers. "HURR DURR MY XYZ CAR DOES THE RING IS 7.45, YOUR CAR A SHIT" as an example.

The companys care, because on 60k+ cars its how the vehicles are compared.

Who actually drives their car on the track?

Manuals are meme transmissions. Even DCTs are objectively better in every possible way.

stick is more fun tho
and if you're not having fun you're a faggot

Then whats up with the CGT, viper, 7 speed manual transmissions and a lot of

(You)

>it's a sports car that weighs more than 2,700 lbs
Oh wait

I'd totally take a 2700+ pounder if it isn't some low geared 4 banger shit.

>He doesn't want to experience the thrill of dialing his car into gear

>go to set car in park
>car doesnt go into car
>get out of car to go check the mail
>car silently rolls down a slight incline
>car pins you against a fence and kills you

Just when i thought modern cars couldn't get any gayer...

DCT > Manual

>t. Bus rider

>Not paying the utmost attention when driving any vehicle regardless of transmission

>automated manual>manual
Who'd have thought

I know it has happened, you oversized penis wrinkle.

Fucking this

>find rx-7 fd for sale

>automatic

>>car doesnt go into car
i think thats good

>but it's a powerglide/THM350

>even a near-base Fiesta (not even FiST) can be had with a DCT
God damn.

I'm actually really impressed with domestics like ford and dodge over the past few years with the hellcat, not using crappy CVTs on things, and just making cooler cars, even the Civic is a lame ass CVT if you don't get a manual.

you should be happy, why would you want a obsolete transmission.

Nice letterboxed image

Because it's a SPORTS car and sequential DCTs shift faster. You know, for racing. MotorSPORT. SPORTS car. For MotorSPORTS. Things that make it go slower are a big no. Comprende?

It's not just benchracing cars that would be equivalent in the hands of amateurs (m-m-m-muh 0.02s difference!), your personal laptimes improve.

this

transmissions arnt difficult to even understand on a component level
