First for best GM division

Chebbyin

...

I've owned several '50s cars; a '51 Chevy with a Powerglide and a '59 Cadillac. The Powerglide is nowhere near as smooth, but it is a LOT of fun when you get some power in front of it; shifting feels like it got its ass kicked and the whine is music to my ears, but I'd never daily drive one again.

What is this?

>tfw you will never sit parked in the middle of street at night in winter with your 61 imperial listening to christmas tunes with the heat cranked up and a thermos of hot chocolate sitting next to you.

Kill me kin.

Is that Peele?

not unless he's got a reason to be in fucking Fresno

Sell it to TMZ anyway

I've done it in the ferd, but replace Christmas music with classic outlaw country and got chocolate with Dunkin donuts coffee.

It's cozy

I drive around in my '66, wearing a suit, listening to Sinatra, and drinking freshly brewed tea; or, as I like to call it, my morning commute.

>Fuck driving a car without a heater in 18 degrees

Exactly. That was motivation enough for me to change the heater core; and this thing has a dual heater core setup.

Jesus. Was it for redundancy or just because it throws a lot of heat?

I visited my step father a bit ago and took some shots of his 'Cuda collection. If you fags want pics I can dump them and try to answer any general questions.

Guess Ill start with that one then

1970 'Cuda AAR
Real deal and in the registry, not a tribute car/clone

The 340 Six Barrel

Its 3 two-barrel carbs. Center primary, outside are vacuum secondaries. Tuning is 'interesting'.

Jesus that's a lot of money worth of muscle car

Dash for the AAR. Normal E-body rallye dash fare. I personally think the clock is a cool piece.

Interior of the AAR. 3 speed automatic 'slap stik'

No idea. I attribute it to Chrysler overengineering; though mine doesn't have it, you could get an optional rear AC system for passengers in the back seats.

Chrysler had the best options and was the best value back then; oh, how they've fallen.

See here's my issue, the 66 imperial was slick but hot damn id rather have a 300g

Second is the 1970 'Cuda 440

This is the play around car. All get driven, but the other two are stock and more collectible. This one isnt, as it started life as a 318 Gran Coupe and was swapped to a 440 (along with a 9 3/4s rear) so it sees more use and general tinkering.

When I stripped the paint for some metal work, I found out it was originally white, then painted hemi orange, before it came to the final black color.

It has a vinyl top with the correct vinyl simulated rear window trim (one of the details of an 'original' vinyl top installation if I remember correctly - shouldnt be chrome) and the nice hockey stick graphics

Here is the 440. Was originally topped with a 750 quad, but now has an 850. Still tinkering with it. The 440, according to my step dad, is actually bored out to 460. Like the AAR, it has a Mopar purple cam. Makes a good noise straight piped.

Last one is another of my favorites

1968 Barracuda 340 Formula S

The Formula S was when the Barracudas were starting to get hot before the launch of the 'Cuda in 1970. This Formula S has a 340, but I believe you could have a 383 in '69.

'Valve Cover' hood detailing is cool

Dat rear glass and flip gas cover

It has the comfiest interior of the three because its also an A/C equipped car from factory. This, like the AAR, is an original and fully stock.

It'd be one of my favorites if it didn't have the angled headlights. I like the 1960 300F more.

The '68 is also the only manual transmission car of the three. It has a Hurst 4 speed with the funkiest shifter rod. Also, reverse gear is very hard to find so luckily it has a light above and to the left of the shifter thats lights up when you finally find it.

I like the 61s grill a little bit more, say 413 as well

Here is the dash on the 68

Post if you got questions I'll lurk the thread for a while.

that has to be the strangest speedo i've ever seen

>sir, do you know how fast you were going?
>15 officer
>get the fuck out of here

>sidepipes

Jelly af

>you will never have a six pack 340 anything.

you will never EVER own a Cuda
I saw one up for 8K, no rust was running just the interior was gutted for RACE CAR

Cheapest I've ever seen one for

>you will never EVER own a Cuda
Woah brainfucked, meant to post
>tfw you will never EVER own a Cuda

A-body cudas aren't outlandish but it's never going to be a factory 426/440 E-body cuda.

It's my dream car too, ever since playing Gran Turismo 2 i've wanted a Barracuda, i wouldn't even care if it was a 3-speed manual.

>tfw everyone has 12k+ mopars and you just purchased this shitbox demon from craigslist

Demons are cool af nigga
what injun?

To be fair, the 440 E-Body posted was a 318 conversion.

>last time I was checking dem craiglists
>E-body 1970 Cuda
>8k

>No interior
>No engine
>No trans
>No rear axle
>Rust
>Sitting on the side of the road with no windows
>Mangled body panels
>Rust

>8k firm

I don't think there was a workable panel. It's literally just buying the VIN and it wasn't even a desirable model - 318 Barracuda trim

fukken noice

340

Dunno how much you paid for it but that's a nice car 340s aren't easy to come by and they're very desirable

Oh yeah I see early Barracudas all the time on CL but rarely any E-bodies

God I love them so much, I wish they were more common

this

Even if i had one i'd be too afraid to drive it, i hear about them being stolen all the time. The police usually find them but they get stripped down to nothing before they can do anything about it.

I think you mean niggers steal cars. Not people

Woah, /pol/, back to the containment board

>Bump

Nigger apologist spotted

>tfw radiator leaking
I think it might be electrolysis. Any tips on how to prevent this? Still waiting to hear from Griffin about whether or not they will honor the warranty. I guess I'll have to go through all the grounds in my car.

>Any tips on how to prevent this?
change your hoses while you're at it, and keep good antifreeze in the system.

I'll definitely change the hoses, didn't think about that. I use dexcool so I think that'll be alright. Not looking forward to dropping another couple hundred bucks replacing a year old radiator

>Dexcool

I won't rip on you for using it, but you do have to be slightly more careful with it.
No mixing any other color/brand of antifreeze with it
Change it every year (which you should be doing anyway)
Use distilled water to mix with the antifreeze.

How do you clean out that? Is the block shot if that happens?

Why is it marketed as extended life if you have to change it every fucking year.

Why is this shit even used.

Just drain the whole shit and go old school. No one ever had a problem with antifreeze why did they even invent new shit.

Reminds me of Vw's snowflake coolant that's like $30 for a gallon of concentrate and only available from dealers

Loving the mopar, a 71 cuda is my dream car

Following the trend here's a 78 400 big block sitting in its new home

And this ugly fuck is packing a mild 440, 4speed, divorced np205 and d70s front and rear

For reference the deck on that trailer is 18 feet long

>That sleeper
lel
That's some West Virginia shit right there. Almost looks like some 90 year old crusty hill dweller was living in it.

Move over.

Does anyone else have a Beetle? I don't think anyone mentioned this vehicle during my 3 years in Veeky Forums and I think it has a unique charm.

I heard it is an easy way to get into classic cars because they are so plentiful and the aftermarket is very strong (dedicated manufacturers still make brand new engines every year).

bumpin

I want a 2017 Saab 900 remake like these

...

...

This picture gets me every time. That picture just is comfy AF.

Full wire hubcaps for my 1980's Malibu, or just the rally center cap with nothing else?

Slot mags

wheels are a little too big but otherwise sex

...

no.

Fine then

I still want it to look suspiciously like a nigger could possibly be the owner.

What I think you might need would be a slick two tone paint job, probably like silver and some other color. Then slam it on the ground with some chrome 19 inch wheels
>Made by foose

>Tony Angelo isn't bringing his Cuda to Etown this weekend
feels sad man

Center caps

Bamp

Looks like a lot of fun to drive. I almost bought one of those like 10 years ago before the market got so inflated.

Reminder to keep your heaps warm this winter

If you're cold, they're cold.
Let them in.

>tfw getting my heater installed on tuesday
shit's cold yo

>below freezing
>period correct low torque starter
>float bowls dry as a bone
>battery hibernating
Still started easier than in the heat of the summer.
What's this bs about hard cold starting with carburetors?

How quickly did your carb ice up lol

I haven't had a carb ice up on me ever..

Boomers can't use the choke properly

Ok how the fuck do I get the inner race of this outside bearing off?? It's not pressed on, it is supposed to just slide off, but it won't budge... (Those rollers are from the other bearing)

heat it up then try tapping it off

Dammit I should have had it taken to the hangar instead of home where I have proper tools and not just a hammer and channel locks...

You can try the hammer without heat, it's worth a shot.

Eh, parts stores are 5min away I'll make a run for a torch

Still, I was a total fuckin dumbass, paying $50 to have it towed home and completely forgetting I could've called workplace boss to bring it to hangar with his flat trailer

Either torch or grinder with cut off wheel. Done that a few times

I think it'll have to be latter, torch doesn't seem to've helped.

Just cut it down until it's almost cut through and then use a chisel to break it loose. Might have to make two cuts 180 out from each other.

Got a welder? Put a bead around the circumference of the race, then knock it off with a hammer and a drift.

Or use a puller.

Or weld it and use a puller.
