would never happen the specs and price are retarded

and no I wouldnt since it would look awful

>put Fordshekels towards Mazda's dorito project
>eventually trickles down to Ford like the Ecoboost as an engine option
>GM btfo 4-6 decades later
In that unlikely event, yes I would buy

It would be nice to see a sub 3000 pound sports car from ford. Especially if they could fit the 450hp 500tq v6 turbo from the new raptor. Plus rwd. Its possible but there really isnt anything like that to compete with, that isnt super exotic.

We would need a chassis about the size of the fox, made of aluminum. Perhaps it could just be track focused and come with no comforts and just 2 seats. Seems like the last few things SVT and ford performance has made either stays the same value as msrp or increases drastically

>making a car that completely invalidates the Mustang

The only car Ford would let outperform the Mustang is the GT. A mini-Mustang wouldn't get a trim that can smoke a GT350R, in the same way the Cayman will never outperform the 911 despite having the potential to do so.

>ford foal

lol wtf

call it the Ford Escort

>2+2 coupe, around same wheelbase as brz
>1.6L turbo from fiesta, 230 hp
>6 speed manual /w lsd
>2700lbs

name a contemporary front-engined rear wheel drive (with a v6) that's under 3000lbs
It's ok i'll wait

this is the only decent idea so far

although it would probably weigh more than 2700 lbs

The Escort we got in America was a piece of shit FWD commuter. The name would only bring back happy memories in the UK.

Foal DOES suck though.

As much as I love the Escort, the Mk1, Mk2, XR3i and RS Cosworth were the only notable ones.

As said it'd only be great for the UK and maybe some of Europe. Most of the Ford Escorts that existed were FWD econoboxes, so it's a bit late to try and revive the name.

Foal (or Colt) would be a pretty cool name as it could be a baby sports coupe that takes the styling of a Mustang.

>not calling it pinto

>Colt

thats a Dodge

that would be my choice but lets face it

its a car known for blowing up

>smaller mustang
>foal
kek
it's a capri

Would need to see a concept.

Love,
a Foxbody Mustang owner

Sounds good even with the basic 305 hp ecoboost.

they were sold as a Mercury in the states but thats still better than Foal

definitely a better heritage to tap into than the Foxshit too

>thats a Dodge

Well then, would be the next logical answer.

The Capri was on the fox platform.

>GT86/BRZ competitor
>340HP

Not sure you full comprehend the words you're using

>The Capri was on the fox platform.

Only the American version, the main one developed in Europe wasn't.

>bring back the FR100 concept
>all 1/8 aluminum body panels
>no electronic assists
>basic interior and accessories
>4wd option with physical shifter to engage
>manual transmission option
>5.0 or modular remake of 300 i6
>$19,000 - $27,000

thats the ugly degenerate Capri

the good Capri was not

What is a "basic" Ecoboost?

1.0L makes 140
1.6L makes 200
2.0L makes 250
2.3L makes 310 on Boostang and 345 on RS
2.7L makes 325
3.5L makes 450 in Raptor and 600 in GT

2.7L would be perfect I think

The one in Mustang, 2.3.

How about

>Mazda takes the 2.7L Eco boost engine to make a bigger Miata.

lolno

if it was a BRZ competitor it would have a 1.6L and maybe a ST with a 2.0

Bigger Miata is just the new RX car.

that they arent planning on doing

Well if they're not they won't make a bigger Miata at all.

The 1.0L makes 120hp.

Q. Could Mazda ever create an RX-8 sports car successor with a range extender?

I think that as a sports car option, the MX-5 1.5-liter or 2.0-liter conventional engine, with its power and acceleration, might be a more exhilarating experience.

Q. No plans for a larger sports car entry with a range extender?

No.

100hrs in paint

weird Porsche you have there

Should have to resemble 3rd gen mustangs. CANNED.

why would you want it to look like the 2nd ugliest Mustang generation

Opinion discarded.

ditto

THIS

the ecoboost v6 in the Raptor is a BEAST

>5.1s 0-60
>13.8s 1/4

So it's essentialy Challenger R/T 6spd fast. Jesus.

It's using offroad tires too.

ford fucking nailed it with the raptor

the word eco is in the name of the motor so FUCK NO

New RX will be in the 70K-100K price range

This car will be in the Mustang/BRZ/370Z price range.

>Foal

>Not calling it Maverick

New RX isn't going to exist

I say Mazda just scraps their rotary projects, puts 2 more cylinders on their 2.0 or 2.5 skyactiv and builds a light weight coupe kind of like an RX but with a piston engine. 250-300 HP or something, 2700-3000 lbs.

Or a turbo 4 cylinder would be cool too

You know they could fit a straight six/turbo 4 under the giant hood of the RX Vision concept. The rotary just isn't going to work for today's emissions standards

lbs
.7L Ecoboost from Fusion Sport making 340HP
>>RWD
k USD

Choose any two.

That new 2.7EB engine weighs more than the 5.0, so where is the ~500lbs going to come out of to get down to that 2900? Aluminum unibody? Not for less MSRP than the Stang. Two-seater? Yeah because those sell so well for other manufacturers, not only can Ford not wait to spend $1B on a dedicated chassis to try to get a piece of 100k total segment sales per year, they desperately need a V6-powered two-seat racing homologation image toy thingy.
