Hey Veeky Forums
Pre-approved for a 2015 ford focus ST.
going into the dealership tomorrow to look at said
ford, can i get some honest opinions on the car?

any owners that can share experience good or bad?

I have a 2007 bmw that i drive currently, but to be honest its a piece of shit and anything i have to fix on it costs way too much.

test drive a fiesta st and a brz

>financing a used vehicle
poors gonna poor

>paying 20k for an econobox instead of buying an actually sporty car
shiggy diggy

Sports cars are a pain in the ass to be honest.

>eating a massive depreciation just to drive a car with >10 miles on it
>xd.

I'll test drive the fiesta, not really interested in the BRZ, need something with a hatch.
plus rear wheel drive isn't too good of an option for where i live.

Enjoy going thru trans faster than an american thru burgers

This problem only exists on the automatic Focus/Fiesta which have DCT

You can't get an ST with auto so it doesn't matter

THANK YOU, i've been waiting for someone to say this.

the only focus ST that has the problem is the first one they released which i believe was the 2013

Ford also recalled the transmission and fixes factory defects for free.

Look! Your Party ST made LEBBIT with how shit both transmissions are.

I have a '16. No real problems with it.
Test drive a FiST before you decide on the FoST though. I liked the FiST, just couldn't deal with the tiny amount of cargo space

Ford service advisor here, ST owners hate us because we get to tell them that they need new tires every 10k miles and new brakes every 20k. other than that not much goes wrong with them but they're middle-of-the-road performance with relatively high cost of ownership and seemingly poor fuel economy.

>confirmation bias
>anecdotal

Not saying I like the car, but using a Reddit post where someone literally states they don't when to shift as a basis for normal vehicle function is straight up retarded.

If I bring my car in to you and say it shifts "clunky" what is your course of action and process, and at what point does it warrant a fix?

Ford reliability is a joke. This is not the first time this has been said, and won't be the last. Buy a Toyobaru.

The end.

Why every 10k miles? Do you push the factory Michelins on owners and not tell them they are free to buy new tires from literally anybody?

>new tires every 10k
>new brakes every 20k

Doesn't seem too bad to me, I can replace the brakes myself.

>tiny cargo space
Yeah thats a no go for me too, Whats the milage on your FoST? and how has fords customer service been?

Everyone said that about the Ford F350 with the 6.0 but my dads is still stock at about 250k miles and no real problems outside of standard matinence.

Really it just sounds to me like if you pay attention to your car and keep up with the monthly service it'll be just fine.

buying a new car is a waste of money you are fooling yourself if you think otherwise

I got 30k miles out of the shitty Kumhos on my Elantra.

And 50k miles in the brakes are all stock.

A lot of the problems im hearing all sound like (mostly) operator error

I have about 1300 on mine. Haven't dealt with the service department yet.

I didn't get new tires until I had 23k on them

My brakes are getting a bit low but they are still good at 28k

I dunno what the FoST uses, but the OE tires on the Fiesta ST are Potenza RE050A's which have a treadwear of only 140.

>paying 20k
>for a Ford

Ishydiggydigeridoodoo

>paying $20k for an burgerfat shitbox that doesn't have a v8 + rwd

fixed.
