Hey Veeky Forums, poor third world country user here, Im thinking of buying a commuter/econobox, but I want something that actually looks nice and feels nice to drive, the only brands available in this shithole are:
Toyota Honda Kia Hyundai Renault Subaru Nissan Suzuki Chevrolet Mazda Mitsubishi
I've been thinking about getting a lancer and get the evo kits (like pic related) so it looks less of a shitbox.
What would you recommend?
Camden Robinson
another pic of said car
Oliver Fisher
>being a poser shut up and get a civic for 3k.
Dylan Bailey
>civic for 3k Civics cost 10k+ usd in this shithole
Also whats wrong with wanting something more than a soulless commuter, being poor doesn't have to suck
Jordan Carter
get a twingo.
Tyler Collins
>el peruano durante su niñez
Christopher Roberts
Sadly the only Renault models available here are: Logan, Sandero, Stepway, Duster, Fluence, Koleos and Megane.
Elijah Cook
fiat Palio

That's an Evo X nigga, not exactly an "econobox" considering the base price. Way too much power and maintenance if you want a reliable daily driver. Get a base model Lancer with some "sport trim" options. Of course, you will look like a fag to actual Evo owners, but whatever.
Isaac Moore
Didn't even read the last sentence of the post. You can get the options, but why? All it does is add weight.
Cooper Lewis
Read what he said. It's a Lancer with a really nice body kit.
Last gen Lancer has aged pretty well. It still looks good even though it was designed a decade ago. I'm not sure if I'd waste money making it look like something it's not. Get the GT, has a 2.4 and I think AWD is available. Or a ralliart.
Chase Foster
Is that front license plate supposed to look retarded?
Asher Perry
The one in the picture is a 2009 regular lancer (1600cc 4i) with bodykit, spoiler and some other evo X stuff bought off ebay, its for sale in my area but in my opinion its just too expensive, so might as well work on a base model.
Pic related is its engine
Jeremiah Russell
Renault rs
Jack Jackson
The megane obviously
Jaxon James
Shut up and get a civic for 20k.
Carter Garcia
Fartcan Tsuru.
Where are you located anyway? Automakers tend to keep their actual good cars off some regions for retarded reasons.
Jaxson Jones
license plate says peru
Evan Scott
Is Dacia owned by Renault? I don't get the joke.
Blake Allen
It is Peru indeed
William Ross
>That shit wheel spacing Anyone who'd actually give a shit what you're driving can easily tell it's a base model with a shitty body kit, up to you if you wanna spend extra dosh for a econobox with a CAI and possible fart can to seem "sporty"
Noah Williams
Op, don't get a shit car dressed up as the performance model, you just look like a tool.
If you want a stylish shitbox get an alfa romeo, and no, you can't put v6 badges on it.
Joseph Bell
That brand's either overpriced or nonexistent here Tell me which one then sempai
Dylan Smith
Renault has owned Dacia since 2000 iirc
If a car company owns the rights to different brands, they'll sell the same vehicle under different brand names in different markets
Example: Chrysler sell pic related as the Chrysler 300 in North America, Chrysler 300C in the UK and Ireland, and Lancia Thema in the rest of Europe
Xavier Lopez
...
James Harris
people like me who own an evo or know anything about them will take a 3 second look at that car and know immediately that its a fake
and nothing is worse than being caught being a fake
Jack Green
Shit man then get a mx5 or Toyota celica. Did your market get any Civic or Integra Type R's?
Nathaniel Russell
I think my particular car would be perfect for you OP, maybe even a Mazdaspeed3 if they have those in your Peru.
>165 hp >200 lb/ft torks >6 speed manual >cheap >fun to drive econobox
It's not as fast as some others but holy shit is it a blast when you take the traction control off. I bought mine for $13k used off a guy when it had 67k miles. With some really simple mods you can squeeze a little more power out of it too.
Nicholas Anderson
As a fellow third world user, I reccomend something that was actually built in your country or in a nearby one. My reasoning behind this is that spares are much cheaper than imported ones and mechanics in your area would be more familliar with the shitbox in question.
I live in Culombia and I've owned a Mazda and a Suzuki Swift, both built locally. Finding spares for the Mazda was easy as fuck for everything but the engine since it was the JAYDEEUHM DOHC one, everything else was stupid cheap and could be found on every corner. Spares for the Swift are even easier to find. My mum´s Fiat was made in Brazil and spares aren´t as cheap but absolutely fucking cheaper by a country mile than, say, a Honda or a Mitsubishi.
isn´t too far. I learnt to drive on my mother´s Palio and it´s a peppy, fun little car. It´s also stupid easy on fuel. At this fucking plateu high in the Andes, it ran a 20.4 quarter mile stock which is quite impressive for a little 1300cc engine at 2600 meters above sea level. Back then I drove the shit out of it and fucked 1600cc Aveos and Logans everywhere.
A Renault can be either tremendous shit or a great car, depends on the engine. If you can get the F4R or F7P/F7R 16v engines, you´re good. The F4R is a great N/A engine and the F7 engine takes boost like a muthafucka.
All in all, lower yor expectations and enjoy the hand you were dealt while you work up the requirements to live in a country that isn´t a fucking shithole.

Was even worse in my old gt-four, all the local knob in his 1.8 needed to look the same from the back was a set of riser blocks. At least you need to put money into a lancer to bastardize it.
Ryan Moore
get a golf v or bmw 1 series
Anthony Wilson
not him, but nearly 90s sports cars are very rare in SA, and if you find one they fetch incredibly inflated prices. Most of what you find has been niggertuned or are right-to-left hand drive conversions
