I don't think you have to complete ultra-perfect "just like my tourneys" netdecks to do well with climbing.
Just choose a deck that's T1 or high T2 and make a budget version where you're missing 2-3 cards

Discard is getting some real good cards, so it's definitely not a half-assed attempt.
However, will it be enough remains unknown. The fact that the tutor is 4pp while rites is 4 makes me worried.
But with lowcost disco cards like Kit and whatever the 3pp 2/3 FF deal 2 disco 1 to give you a nice board early on, Pyroxene for good refill and insane rites/dragonnewt synergy, Owl Guardian for late game ward +removal, and Dragoon as a finisher, it definitely has potential.
